I've encountered them before-never crimped them before-at least I know where a crimp tool is if I ever need one ;)

    make offer for whole axle

4.10 gear, all hub and knuckle bearings new not long before truck parted, could probably use seals due to age and non use, has oem manual hubs intact

Looking at this radio for the main...will get a CB as well. Surprised that there is no combo 2 meter / CB. There are ways to do it but it would create a 100w CB ( FCC limits CB to 4w ) so there's that. Any other HAM guys? Install pics pls.

Cool...there's an Icom radio that can be modified by opening some diodes and allow the CB frequencies to be used...but like I said..it's a 100w radio. I was discouraged from doing so but I figured I would only be on CB for wheeling trips and such.

the unfortunate part of that radio was "technically" a license was required to use any other range, let alone having to either have an array or retune the antenna for each band to be useful. it was cool, and cheap, but functionally useless for the typical user (me) for the other bands. being able to get out of the woods at Uwharrie was pretty cool though

Once I get my "other stuff" you can have my baofeng uv-5r.

Edit: you guys should get your HAM Technician license. It's an easy test and it lasts 10 yrs. Allows all the frequencies above 30Mhz. If anyone is interested I can post links to study guides and whatnot.

Yea, I wouldn't run 100watt on CB. I'm all for amped signals but that's excessive, lol don't need to talk through an entire mountain range.

had neighbors growing up, one was HAM, had nice set up, all the cool stuff, licensed and legal,

few houses up, "That Guy" with the blown out base station, bleed thru on the phone lines, static on TV when keyed up, obnoxious on air and off, big ole whip on the truck and booster in it too.

took a couple visits by FCC to get the point across, but one of them was never on the air again.

I really wouldn't offer much, im getting ready to start building my IFS rear axle, and im putting on solid axle brakes on the back (nice and simple). My front axle is nice and built now (am going to pull it out this winter and do a maintenance on it just to do it). But if willing to let the axle go fairly cheap ill take the whole thing.
