I came across the sweet center console lock-boxes that they make for 2nd gens pricey but at least they have options. We don't even have locks on our glove boxes not that it would really help any. But it got me thinking what options do us 1st gen guys have, and i couldn't really find anything not even on here but im sure some one here has had to come up with some sort of solution.

The latch from the glove box is removable with a couple screws. You can get a keyed locking hatch from I believe any 96-02 4runner and they bolt right in. Just have to get it re-keyed which is like $10-15 bucks. That's one solution I have seen some on here do.

I use one of these. http://www.gunvault.com/nanovault-200.html
It comes with a cable that you can secure (I have it looped around one of the passenger seat mounts) and locks.
I picked this up for under $20.
