RSCA and VSC/TRAC/DAC were two separate options for 2008.

If you had RSCA (roll sensing curtain airbags), you'd have a RSCA button. It was an option for 2005-2008 Double Cabs.

If you had VSC/TRAC/DAC (Vehicle Stability Control/etc.) you would have a 'swervy car button' since your truck is a 2008. VSC/TRAC/DAC was an option for 2005-2008 TRD Off Roads.

My buddy has a 2008 Double Cab, TRD SPORT 4X4 Long Bed. (It's a long monster!)

I have not had a chance to drive it or experiment with his different modes, but it does have the swervy car button. (Have not had a chance to look at his brake booster, either.) Any idea what all he has? Any yellow wire mod possible for that year?

He says it will go anywhere, and in all these years he has never gotten stuck. He is a geologist who does field work all over the western US....so when he says that, I tend to believe him!

I popped the blanks out of my dash to see what's behind it. I noticed there's wiring for the VSC button in my truck. I have a vacuum booster in a 2008 TRD Off Road. Any idea what would happen if I put in the VSC switch? I suspect nothing not having the electronic brake booster but curious if anyone knows.

Do it and let us know... There was optional TRAC/AUTO LSD before 2009 when they became standard in all Tacomas.

Looks like 'VSC OFF' is part 84988-04050 and will cost about $55. Ouch, that's not a cheap switch. I'll have to dig around and see if any of the other components are there before I try. It may just be a universal wiring harness.

i will report back in the morning, i just got a swery car button and have an 07 prerunner but my truck is wired up mostly as a trd off road would be, i have almost all the stuff for plug and play to add a elocker, the inverter and other things just from digging around,

i had the switch plug but it was tied in up in a loom. pulled it out and plugged right up. will do the hold button and see. i have the standard no brake booster package.

worst case scenario i use it for abs killswitch

Has anybody swapped from vacuum boost to the TRD off-road booster? And is it hydro or electric?

My 07 has the big vacuum donut
