    Hi All,

The tweeters are so loud/crackly it hurts my ears to listen to music. Is there any type of plug and play tweeter that will sound better?

Anyone have any ideas? I haven't found much on the search function. If not, how about a way to easily quiet down the front tweeters? My idea was to pop off the cover and put some tissue paper in front of the speaker. Thoughts on this idea?

Have you turned down the treble level on the headunit? Simple but may have been over looked.

    non-jbl or jbl?

I cant say for sure since I had a 2012 non-jbl but when upgrading my system there was a point where I didn't have the 6x9 door speaker hooked up and had just the tweeter playing. It's output at full volume was pretty low so I am surprised that it is too loud. Now if its crackly or unclear it could be due to low quality mp3 song files. Have you played any CDs?Not burned from a computer.

There is no true plug and play tweeter. But you can buy pre made adapters for both mounting to the factory location and connecting to the factory wiring harness to try an aftermarket tweeter. Might get lucky and find one that plays well with the rest of the system.

My reasoning for upgrading my sound system were mainly due to lack of overall output.

Now if you have the jbl I can't comment. Never heard that set up.
