If I had to replace my truck with a brand new one it would SR 4x4 2.7L and 5 speed. In fact when I bought my truck it was essentially whichever one the dealer I was working with came across first. I wanted stick shift and Access Cab, just happened someone traded in a 2008 TRD OR before they got another new 2015 SR5 in stock. I had a fixed upper limit to spend. That would be true now, too, SR or SR5 with stick shift and add an Air Locker instead of paying for stuff I don't want other than the e-locker.

I've got an SR5. The NAV runs thru an app on my phone, Scout GPS Link; works great! I'm going to add Katzkin Leather to my OEM seats for $1,500 (saw this on another SR5 and they look awesome!)

I believe you can get the black with caramel or black with red on any of the SR5s. I wouldn't trust the build feature online if you're going off that as it isn't completely accurate on what you can actually get.

You should look at the Clazzio seat covers too as an option. You can do them yourself and they look like a katzkin type replacement but you can always take them off when you sell your truck and swap them to the next one if you really wanted to.

I agree about Clazzio's. Plus they're a third of the cost of katzkin.

I have an SR5 4x4, it has everything except the "bilstein" shocks, locker, and power outlet.

Plenty of SR5 guys around. Although I see mainly TRD OR trucks on the daily. For the right price I would have gone TRD OR... My 2WD SR5 does everything I need it to.

Why do so many 2nd Gen guys roll around in 3rd gen threads? Lol. Not to be offensive, think it's just funny.

I also got my OR due to getting it at invoice. For extra 2k or 2500, I don't remember the difference, it was a tiny bit extra a month for the nav system with larger screen, lockers, suspension, and other stuff the OR had. I've actually used locker a couple times and the crawl is fun to use. Mostly use it just to go down really steep hills.

If I could have gotten an OR for $2k to $2500 more than my truck, I probably would have went for it.

It's on the front page feed. Didn't even notice it's 3rd gen related when clicked on it.

Also, there is not much difference in the trucks except a crappier engine and uglier truck.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the 2nd gen wheel well shape.

If you think so. I get tons of looks and compliments with mine. Yeah gear searching sucks sometime but I am still waiting to do the TSB. Sucks living on a island haha. Other then that, I like it.

17 Tacoma sr5 but like a cool one
I got an sr5 4x4 because I planned on replacing stuff as soon as i got it. The trd sport seemed like a heftier price tag on what i was going to replace anyways and the trd OR way to much for what i intend on using i for. I'm really happy with the sr5 and i don't like the fake hood scoop.
