It's not full height but it's higher than their overland bars.

I wonder if you can mount rotopax on them, i like how its not full height for mounting my RTT and not worry about it being too above the cab

    @CBI Offroad Fab

Bumping this with a couple question....I'm looking to mount an awning to the back/rear of the overland rack.

Is there a way to mount an awning this way? Or, could it be mounted to the bottom of an RTT (the portion that hangs past were the overland rack stops)?

Could somebody here tell me the distance (center to center) from the front and rear cross-bars??

I'm trying to figure out a new mounting method for my RTT. Rack is on order and won't be here for another few weeks.

    Just got it mounted.

They changed the design somewhat from what I was expecting. Now the sides are a single piece - instead of the bolt-on plates. The hole patterns are different too. I think I would have preferred the plates, but whatever.

Install was fairly easy. The worst part was that, for the 24 holes that hold the cross-beams, about 80% of them weren't cut out enough for the bolts to fit. So I had to get the drill out to open them up a bit, which is kind of a dumb thing to have to do right after it has been powdercoated.

Let me know if anybody has any questions. It's not a very popular rack, and CBI hardly ever comes here, so I'll try to help out if I can.

It's a sexy-ass rack though. I'll try to get more pics once I have it loaded up.

Great looking rack...this is on my CBI list! Not so nice to hear about the holes not being large enough for the bolts to pass through. Can anyone at @CBI Offroad Fab comment on this?

Almost done with it. Got the Rotopax's on, along with my shovel. Now I just need to figure out how to mount the hi-lift behind the fuel.

    Gosh I love this.

Can you show close up picture of the back end of the side plates? Id like to see how you attached that shovel there.

Also, You think that Maxtrax or TREDs can fit on the sides?

Would you say an RTT can open with those Rotopaxes there?

For the shovel I had to cut some wood spacers (1/4" thick blocks) to mount the Quick-fists too. Then I just bolted them from the outside. The shovel is held fairly snug up against the inside of the rack.

Because of the bolt heads on the outside of the rack now, I attached some furniture friction pads in the corners to give the rotopax a better surface to mount to.

TRED 1100's will not fit. At least not without some drilling and modification. I'm not sure about the Pro's. And CBI seems to insist that Maxtrax will fit - so I assume they do. I plan on eventually getting rid of these 1100's and getting Maxtrax some day. If I decide to mount them on the rack I'll put them up top, underneath the crossbars.

Oh yeah, it should. My tent is currently on the garage floor, so once I get somebody to help me lift it up onto the rack I'll let you know for sure. But I don't expect there to be any issue.

By drilling and modification, do you mean making holes to match up with the mounts?

I wonder if you could install them behind the plates, sort of like you have the shovel.

Yeah, drilling into the rack. I have the 1100 mounting plates, and I thunk on it for good long while before just giving up. Besides, I don't even like the 1100's and I'm trying to sell them, and there's no way I'm drilling into my new rack for traction boards I don't even want. I'm more than happy with the Rotopax/shovel/hi-lift storage. For now I'll just throw the 1100's in the bed during trips.

1/2-13 bolts and wingnuts work will for holding the high lift. I used the shortest bolt I could find, the put a union nut on it to space the high lift off the rack, and a piece of all thread epoxied and threaded in the union nut. Then I just use a wingnut to keep it tight.
