I believe it requires either the OEM (Toyota) or an aftermarket alarm.

I don't know about it on the tacoma, but on our '08 4runner there is instructions on it in the owners book. I would start with the owners book.

    Welding on frame Question
Should I disconnect the battery before I weld on the frame?
Does it have any effect on the electronics if I leave it connected?

We always disconnect the battery before welding on the truck.

I disconnect both terminals on the battery. Don't know if this is overkill but I was told by a master mechanic years ago (when there wasn't as much electronics as now on vehicles) to disco both cables. I've never fried anything so I'll keep doing this.

I'll throw in another recommendation for anti-seize. The different metals of the head and spark plug will cause an electronic reaction causing corrosion (I think it's a galvanic reaction??). You do NOT want a steel threaded spark plug to seize to the aluminum threads of your head.

    Hey All:
I am not usually one to recomend products unless they truely truely amaze me with that being said only one other time in my life wrenching did a spark plug amaze me and that was the split fire plugs which of coarse they dont make any more The split fire plugs from the minute you put them in and took the vehicle for a test ride was there a really noticable difference in power and throttle responce well low and behold I am very happy to say I have once again been amazed by a spark plug and they are called BRISK spark plugs what I am amazed by for the 4.0 L motor when you put it in their search by vehicle search engine it returns 445 different spark plug applications the make for this motor oh coarse there could be alot of doubles in there I went through like 10 different pages from the search return and did not see any doubles but any way I bought a couple different sets of their plugs to try out and right away i noticed a difference in power and throttle response and i usually run ngk iridiums so there you have check out BRISK spark plugs web site and judge for yourself but man what a variety in plugs to choose from----- But check out the Brisk Premium Multi-Spark Plugs new technolegy I bought a set of these big big difference

yea Norton I know that thread and agree with in most part let me redirect my point i was trying to make and it is what amazes me that a company makes so many different variations for a spark plug for a single model engine all the simple little changes they do to a spark plug and then call it a whole different spark plug

Put a flip cover on it. You can just grab one out of an Aventador.

Not sure it would pass inspection if it were gone.
I like the option above, the cover over the button.
