I think it turned out pretty good.

3" low range spacers and drop kit with deaver pack in the rear (no load limiters). 285/75-16s Toyo ATs on stock wheels and hub centric spacers.

Took it on some trails today and was unable to make the tires rub anywhere and there has been zero cutting.

The big tires look pretty good on the stock wheels. How is it on the highway?

 

I bought the same lift and am waiting for my truck to come in this week. Did this lift your truck 3" over stock? I ordered the same tires too but going with Method 16x8 wheels.
I plan on going with King mid travel later and hope this doesn't lift it a full 3" over stock and then when I go with kings it drops down an inch.

 

Im curious, do 3rd gens not seem to get 3" lift out of 3" lifts for some reason?

 

Thanks, I dig the simplistic look so stock was my first choice. It's great on the highway, rides like stock in my opinion and the motor doesn't notice the size difference.

 

Not sure on exact height but that's not how I determine lift rather it's all about tire clearance for me. I've got zero rubbing at full lock, reversed, flexed, you name it. I will be swapping the spacer lift for Icons in a month or two and know theirs are adjustable so if need a little more height they can be cranked up. At this point I like exactly how it sits and the fact that everything clears like a dream.

 

I'm not sure and I've owned a second gen as well with the same style lift. I seem to get every bit the same amount of lift and feel like my third gen clears the tires better. Could be luck but I don't know.

 

3rd gens are about an inch higher than 2nd gens from the factory. So what would give you 3" on a 2nd gives you 2" on a third. But they would be sitting at same height side by side

 

I agree with BarberRider but since the difference between 2nd and 3rd gen is really just a longer spring that makes it sit 1" taller when you add a spacer that is 1.5" thick you will still lift it 3" more. In that case you would be 4" lift over 2nd gen. But if you remove the stock spring (strut) and replace with a coilover and adjust it to 3" lift you will only be 3" over 2nd gen or 2" over 3rd gen.
Everyone says 3" is the max you should go with the Tacoma suspension so Im wondering if the 1.5" thick spacer is to much. I got the Lift from Low Range Off Road and they have it under their 2016+ category but when it came the instructions said 2005-2014 (yea it says 2014 not 2015 kind of strange)
Does anyone know of a company that makes a spacer that measures 1" thick, to give a 2" lift?

 

Tuff country makes a 2" leveling kit so I assume it is a 1" spacer but dont know for sure. Part number

Hey shaunboy let me tell you that is like looking in the mirror for my truck except mine is SR5, 2in. Rough Country 2in levaling kit ,and 265/75/16's

 

Great looking truck dude! This may sound weird to some but I kinda like how the door protectors look on your truck.

 

You mean bodyside molding. If so I had that on most of my trucks. For the cost its well worth it

 

So are ppl using 2nd gen 3" lifts on 3rd gens and not getting 3"?

Or is everyone here saying they are buying 3rd gen 3" lifts and not getting 3" of lift?

I was talking about coilovers in my first post. Like holms67 said, spacers should give the advertised lift, coilovers will give abount an inch less on a 3rd than 2nd gen simply because 3rd gens already sit an inch higher from the factory.

 

Who made the kits and do you have the link? I like the outcome

 

Where exactly did you purchase the leaf packs from?

 

Front strut spacers, drop breakers, linkage extenders, etc...are from Low Range Offroad. Rear leaf packs are Deavers which I think the shop got from Icon.

 

@ShaanBoy looking good on those stock wheels!!! I don't know why everyone swaps them out.. I love mine.. keep up the nice build man!
