Yep...Just bought 2 cans there today, and 3 cans a few weeks ago. I used 3 cans on my 17 Pro today....I used it also on my 14 Taco and hit it twice a year.

I used HEAVY coats of Fluid Film on my 2013. Outside of the lower crossmember which chipped due to road debris, I had ZERO surface rust on my frame...zero. I helped a member with a 2013 that didn't have the FF coating and he had a lot of surface rust.

I put a spraycan each into each side of the box sections since I knew that was a trouble area.

I did my lift in the summer of 2015 after 3 decent Northeast winters and every single bolt broke free without an issues.

Fluid Film works. I'm certain other methods work well, but a liberal coat of FF works. I plan on flooding the new truck's frame with FF in the next week or two.

Anybody have anything to say about using POR15? My buddy with a wrangler says it's good stuff and that's what he uses

Buy a case of black rustoleum and paint everything under the truck once or twice a year.

It's great stuff however it doesn't stick well to clean surfaces. It's designed to Paint Over Rust POR which it does very well at. It needs the rough surface to adhere to otherwise it just chips right off.

There is something called metal ready that etched the metal but I believe it has to be raw and clean of any paint.

Fluid film is what I use also. Sprayed my taco the first weekend after I bought it. Do it when you truck is new and stay after it. My FJ made it through 7 years of salty winters with no rust issues . Before fluid film I used a clyclo marine product that was really sticky and lasted longer. But have not see it in awhile .

Tacoss. I have a 2016 SR5, thinking about having a shop doing the fluid film within the next few weeks. Did you have any issues with the fluid film softening the black factory paint under the truck? I want to make sure it doesn't cause any issues. My plan is to have it professionally done the first time so they get inside the frame and rockers then just do some yearly maintenance with a few spray cans from Lowes.

It doesn't soften paint, it may soften actual aftermarket undercoating, but if the truck is already undercoated no point in spraying fluid film over it.

Grew up in Richmond area. Now live in Saco.

Please let me know how your fluid filming goes, some things are worth driving down to NH for.
