FWIW, I removed my second overloads, rather than 3rd leafs. Ride is great. I haven't hauled anything really heavy, but here's side shot after my topper was installed - no sagging.

Has anyone removed the overload but added the D29XL extra leaf? I noticed a lot of people saying the don't ever hit the bump stops with both overloads. Any comment on this with the overload removed or the overload removed plus D29XL?

Yes, @Crom has done this with extensive documentation in his build.

Remove an overload, add AAL, add 3 degree shim.

And for bonus points, U bolt flip with Wheeler's bumpstops.

    That's where I'm headed.

I wrote the before numbers down somewhere and of course I can't find them now.

Here are the after numbers (eyeballed to within a 1/16th") with context:

    2005 DCSB with 110K miles
Full OME kit with Dakars: + on the driver side and 0 on the passenger side
885X coils upfront with trim packer on the driver side
Bed loaded with a Raider Vagabond cap weighing approx 190lbs
    Approx 100 miles since install

    Driver Side
    Front Driver: 23 5/16 Passenger: 23 1/2
    Rear Diver: 24 9/16 Passenger: 24 5/8

I find it odd that even with the trim packer there is (within reason) an 1/8th of an inch difference upfront.
The rears are within the error of measurement so I'd say they are the same.

I was hoping to keep the little bit of rake that I had before, but after measuring a couple of spots of the frame and using a level, it looks as if the whole thing is just about level. Which is good when I don't have the trailer hooked up. We'll see how the Dakars react with 500lbs of tongue weight on them.

How are you using a level to see if your truck is sitting level ?

Did you shoot elevations on the ground first ?

Shoot elevations? I measured two spots on the frame relative to the ground which yielded the same results on both sides (given the accuracy of the tape), then as a second form I used the level and the bubble was centered. I recognize the frame itself might not be a "zero point" for level, but it's probably close. I wish I had taken measurements beforehand.

Point I was making is unless all 4 tires are the same height relative to each other ( ie ground is perfectly level ) a level won't really give you an accurate result

Sure. My garage is pretty level, but your are right, it would take a "perfectly level" surface to use a level.

Most (not all ) garage slabs are sloped to the door , so for instance , in a sloped slab you could have consistent frame to slab measurements and the truck would still not be level

    Just sayin

Thanks for your measurements , I'll update the OP soon

Im going to ask a dumb question since Im getting ready to do these and remove my stock with the AAL. I have a Baja, so it was already lifted in the front. When I put the AAL on I noticed my headlights arent aimed as good now. Has anyone clearly measused how much adjustment the headlights need to sit level again?

ARB just sent me the new updated Dakars with liners between the leafs at the center pins and every leaf tip now has a greaseable teflon pad between it and the leaf above. They're not available to the general public yet so I'll definitely give feedback on them. They'll be here thursday and I'll be sure to upload pics. Time to get rid of my squeaky packs

Very cool and kind of jealous 300AA but also curious how that works out. I got the latest model Dakars in mid 2016. I disassembled before install and noted that they have the teflon pads on the outside/ends of the leafs like you mentioned. I know they have greasable shackles which I have but have not heard anything about what you have. Surprisingly a lot of my rear suspension noise was from old dried out crappy stock bushings. I don't really care about the squeaks but it would be really nice have something maintainable for all of us DIY guys. Do you have any pics?

Just got dakars. Mine came with isolators on all the leafs except for the longer leafs. Should I add more isolators?

Thanks 300AA and look forward to seeing pics. No rush. I've been extremely happy with my ARB/Old Man Emu set up and happy to hear they continue to improve. I believe it's the best Tacoma suspension for the money. King and Fox remote systems are better depending on what you use the truck for but cost 4x more.

They may be available to the public. I received mine last month from LowRangeOffroad and I had the pads as well. Installed and pretty quiet.

Feast your eyes everyone! ARB sent me these after learning of all the squeaking issues going on. I've been in contact with them since October when they told me that these were "on the water", hence the production date on them. Just a few days ago they got back in contact and said they were ready to go. They just asked that I provided feedback on them once I get them installed. If this doesn't speak of how amazing ARB's customer service is then I don't know what would. They even included bushings.
