I have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma truck and the shifter gets stuck in park sometimes. It does not do this all the time. It might go for weeks, before it does it again. Sometimes the ABS light comes on. What causes this and how can I fix it?

Brake light switch would be my guess. See if your brake lights are working when it is stuck in park. There is an over ride on the shiftier.

    Another brake light switch vote.

Fix it asap, using the bypass, or pumping the brakes may get the truck out of park, but who knows how often the switch isnt working when ur driving?

If u have a garage, or a wall nearby at night u can see the lights may work intermittently.
