I have been casually chasing a slowly growing 'road noise'. New Michelins and brakes all around didn't fix it.

I 'concluded' that it was in the rear end and ordered new rear axle bearing assemblies. Pulled the RR and found that the old bearing assembly bore almost no resemblance to the new ones. No one could explain it / all swore that the new one were Right for the truck. As it happened the pulled-out rear axle bearings were fine anyway so I shoved it all back togetherand drove on.

The increasing 'road noise' continued to bother me and I thought: What the hell? I'll try some new front bearings. OK; so these bearings are not the easy pair of tapered roller of my youth and new hubs were required. I bought them and went hom to work. Once there I managed to strip the pusher-hole threads out of the right rotor and then started to ponder the bearing assembly installation.

And . . . . Looking behind the exiting brake rotor I saw nothing which looked like the new bearing assemblies. So I measured and found that there is no way that the new bearings assemblies. (Six inches across diagonally). Were ever going to fit inside the brake rotor rear recesses - which are just barely over 4.5" diameter.

Back at the auto parts store I bought new brake rotors. (With the thought that I might have to cut the old rotors off). And asked about the apparent discrepancy. That is: there is no way to interface the rotors they sold me and the bearings assembles they sold me. The parts guys there know nothing but parts numbers and declared that what they had sold me Had To Fit / Must Be The Right Thing.

So my genius-grade friends - I ask you: WTH? Over? How can this be? How can my entire 2007 chassis apparently not accept 2007 parts? It's not like 2007 was either the end or the beginning of a version.

    Any ideas?

All I know is @BamaToy1997 and @nj636 both sell hubs specifically for 4x4/Prerunner and a separate unit for 2WD.

There is a huge difference between the 5 lug and 6 lug. He has a 5 lug.

They are selling him 4 wheel drive or Prerunner Parts.

    best wheel bearings around! www.marionbumper2bumper.com
To the OP. You have a base model 5 lugger truck. They are not the same assembly style as the 4WD or TRD Prerunner. According to Toyota, your truck uses the old style tapered wheel bearing assembly. I would contact Toyota parts, get the part numbers from them, then go to the parts store locally. I also would recommend using Timken brand bearings.
