That's awesome! I've looked at the RPR but the wait times are getting longer by the minute. And wasn't really wanting to drop $1200 just for the rifle. Its not off the table though

I bet if you were to look around, you would probably find one pretty easy, with that said I'm not sure where in the nation you are but here in Ohio the place I go to has three of them sitting on the shelf right now.

In fact, I took my record groundhog this year at 476 with that rifle ( horizontal in a bean field) and I do believe I will probably constantly break that record but that's the farthest I've gotten the opportunity with this new rifle so far

But it's possible that they are like the Inferno Tacoma's, some areas have several sitting on the lot and others are waiting for months for them

If you read back in this thread a bit you will see that I was lucky enough to be able to get mine for the 1 GEN price for a 2nd GEN
But then again you will also see that I bashed the 308 calling it grandpas round and the definition of what transonic means and what it does to a bullet backing my statement of the 308 .
And yes, I caught lots of shit for it then LOL
I guess the bottom line is. You will quickly figure out everybody thinks their shit is the best set up, we just love our stuff. But in the end, take all that information and pick what suits and works for you the best for you. This sport can get financially way out of Control, like buying a scope the price of a used car

Shooting a precision rifle is not going to be cheap.
The 7mm mag is a wicked cartridge, however unless you're handloading get yer wallet out.
Magnums would not be my first choice as a beginners gun.

The 308 has the most plentiful selection and it will teach you read the wind.
Can the 308 be shot past 1grand, yes it's all about knowing yer hardware and what it does.

The 6.5 Creed is a wicked good cartridge as well, excellent BCs available.
Sometimes it's tough to see that small bullet out long though, even on a good trace day.

When comes to kitting out a precision rifle there is a saying "Buy once Cry once"
Don't buy a tacticool scope cause it was cheap, cheap scopes die quickly when pushed hard.

Obviously I'm poking light fun at the 308, I have them also. But like I said everybody's gonna love their own shit,

    My Kit:
    Savage Mod 10
    7mm 08
Every thing has been replace except the action and the bolt (which I probably should do seeing how it's on the third re-barrel and had well over 10K rounds through it)
    Bell & Carlson stock
    Rifle Basik trigger
    Badger rings & base
USO 3.5-17 (this is the second scope, had a Vortex PST 4-16 that's now on my DMR)
    LRA bipod (won that)

I belong to long range hunting magazine forum, a.k.a. gunwerks. And it makes me cringe at some of the asking prices those guys have on what to the naked eye looks like just a normal every day field rifle. Obviously it's not, but still

Guwerks is high $ they cater to the long range hunters that can afford to shoot the wad on just about everything.
The thing is though $ doesn't buy experience, that comes from trigger time.

The guys at Gunwerks know their stuff. My comment about buying experience has more to do with those guys that spend craptons of money on an AI Artic Warfare, Schmidt & Bender PM2, Kestrel 5700 w Bluetooth, 511 3day assault pack and load it down with another crapton of instant make me a better shooter stuff. When they don't even have basic marksman skills and won't accept help when trying to sort them out. Kinda like fix my junk but tell me how to do it the way I want to.
We had a tacticool guy show up at a class with the price tags still attached to all of his kit.
