The shop I took it to is one of the best around here. Everyone recommend them. And the guy took me out into the shop and showed me the numbers on the computer and alignment was perfectly normal.

    *Insert sarcasm here*

Wait... You have wheels and tires off a 2016 Tacoma?! This is your problem!!! According to several people on TW, the 16's are problematic!!!

    Just a jokey joke.

There's several different valves in a shock or strut that can wear out. Let's assume there's 3 with different speeds. Like soft, medium, and hard. The soft one could wear first and allow for oscillation going down the road but wouldn't be noticed much in a bounce test. Basically cupping comes from misalignment, tire pressure, or the shock/strut not stopping the spring from oscillating which creates a bouncing basketball effect going down the road. Which causes Excess pressure on the tread in short bursts that causes the cupping.

    improved toyota goodness.
I should share my experience... I had this problem when I bought the truck and fought it for the first 8 months...
long story short it turns out that my 240 lbs being on the drivers side only caused an imbalance in the suspension and the drivers side rode out of spec.
my solution was to put 3 50lb bags of lead shot under the drivers seat during the alignment and I have had no further trouble since I started doing that every time.

Whatever works I guess...I wouldnt think that weight difference would matter but I guess it does.

Reminds me of a story my grandpa used to tell me. Heard it probably a thousand times.

He had a big, 250+ lb customer, who drove a little 2 door compact and drove a lot as a salesman. He aligned the car with the guy in it because it would pull if he aligned it empty.
