I recently lifted my truck 3" and added 30" tires. I have noticed it lost power and acceleration and I want that back. I don't want power muscle type gear but something that would bring it back.

I have a 2006 Taco 2wd 2.7L 5 speed manual trans (5 lug) and I don't know what is the factory gear ratio. The VIN says A05A/R155 but I have no idea what that means.

The stock OEM tires are 215/75R15. What new gears would you guys recommend to get back factory power (if not stronger) but not too much because I want to keep decent gas mileage because I drive highway and streets. Would 4.11 gear work?

And how much $$ will I be looking to spend? I live in Southern Cali (Inland Empire area)
    Thanks!

Don't know if you've already figured it out, but I have the same engine trans setup with the 4.11 that comes with the prerunner. I'm on 33in cooper atp's, pro comp rims and a mid travel setup with a header and 3in exhaust. I am happy with the performance that the truck has, and I'm sure there is a significant weight difference between mine and your trucks. Maybe split the difference? First gear may be a little gutless, but it does GREAT for climbing up and over obstacles. The r155 is the truck version of the infamous r154 with different ratio gears, and different sized input/output shafts. If has held up to me hammering around Ocotillo making questionable shifts and inopportune times and will be used(rebuilt with new stuff and things) when I turbo the old girl.
