    My friends 2006 Toyota Tacoma died in my driveway today. Please help me help her! It refuses to go into gear, it will shift but the transmission does nothing. I'm afraid that it's some stupid button or something we are missing lol, if this is a common problem please message me and help us out thank you for your time

    If the shift lever moves fine and the transmission does nothing when put in gear (including making gnarly noises), first place I would check is the trans linkage. Sounds like it is effectively staying in park.
