Looking to replace the worn out stock leaf springs on my '01 double cab TRD 4WD that has a tow package. Will replace old ass (orig?) shocks as well (I just got Bilstein 4600s in the mail). A wee bit of lift is ok, but would like to keep truck as close to stock height as possible. Truck is not lifted, and I don't plan on lifting it. My typical usage will be hauling dirt bikes, lumber, dirt, furniture, occasional dirt/trails to get to camping/hiking/offroad moto sites, and probably pulling a small camper trailer. What brand/specs do you recommend that I replace the leafs with? I appreciate yer feedback.

I will say I would not recommend factory leafs. I got new ones with my new frame (with bilstein 4600s too) and tow my race car and they don't do very well.

I will second the General Spring Heavy Duty option

I load heavy and Tow equipment so I also installed Super Springs I am quite happy.

I put the regular (not the HD version) General Springs on my 02 4x4 ext cab last year and have no complaints about the ride. They are inexpensive and seem to be good quality. I don't carry a lot of weight in my bed so I don't know how much the HD General springs would lift the rear of your truck when empty.

Before you embark on this adventure if you plan to do this yourself do some research on how to get the bolts out of the spring Hangers

I always go with new Ubolts and Toyota Shackle Kits and the New Bolts for the Spring Hangers

If my suspension lifted the truck it was not enough that I ever noticed.

I'm unhappy with the non-HD springs on my double cab. Glad to hear they are working for you, maybe the springs were meant primarily for ext cabs?

I put the non-HD General springs on my '04 4x4 TRD double cab over the summer in the hopes of fixing my trucks axle wrap. Axle wrap came back within a month. The springs gave 0" inch of lift over my original springs which had ~12 years of wear. I wish I had spent the extra $ and gotten the HD version.

Thanks ya'lll...this is very helpful. I think I'll look into getting HD General Springs with new shackles and hardware. Cheers

I purchased the general HD's for my double cab about a year ago. The inital lift was quite noticeable at least 2 - 2.5 inches higher than sacked out originals.
Even with the Rancho lift struts in front my truck has a little rake.
I've hauled a 600 pound four wheeler in the bed and a Chevy smallblock. The truck sat about level at that point.
Believe it or not, the ride isn't harsh or jarring unloaded. BUT axle wrap has returned which blows...other than that I'm quite happy with them.
