Yesterday, I reworked the firewall plate & seal.

I needed to move the seal to the RT 5/8" to center the shaft in the seal going through the plate. I also properly phased the 3 steering u joints... I was off a few splines.

These plates do not fit well at all. I trimmed the RT side and bottom at least a 1/2" and elongated the holes to get it to fit and quite a bit of silicone too. Good to go now.

    More to follow.

...just back from Howe Performance steering.

Turns out the supplied pump pulley is too large @ 5.375", now going with a 4.5".
I'll install it on Saturday along with a new belt which will be 2.75" shorter.

    More to follow.

    Osvaldo,
How is your steering set up working... got any pics?

What issues was the bigger pulley causing?

The only issue with my steering was the leaking box. Truck is at the shop waiting for a new box to be installed under warranty.

I'm traveling and won't be able to take more pics anytime soon unfortunately. What did you want to see specifically? Maybe I can ask for some pics.

No worries... they can wait till you get back. I want to see how you ran your hydro lines from the box.

As for the pulley, I need the smaller pulley for increased pump rpm's while driving at low speeds.

Ahh, it makes (about the pulley). I do not remember what pulley size I have. But I do remember that I ended up going with a smaller size ram to increase the feeling of the steering response at most speeds; though it does not feel as powerful now. It is a compromise I guess depending on your setup and tire size. But I wonder about what would happen to the steering feeling if I change my pulley size.

I'll try to get a couple of pics of the lines.

I would be worried about overspeeding the pump at higher RPMs with a different pully.

    Slander,
You are correct sir... 4.5" is the smallest I can go with this model of Howe pump that I'm running. The 5.375 Desert Racer pulley simply does not work well at low speeds.
The belt I need and now possess is a Napa brand, #25-040425.

    More to follow.

I finally was able to get my truck in the dirt on Sunday.
Went north of Borrego Springs to Coyote Canyon. The rangers had a portion of the trail shut down but it was nice to try out all of the parts.
Front hubs locked in and we were off. Didn't need the front locker but did have the rear locked.
Everything rode smooth, much better than my previous IFS setup. I didn't use all of the suspension but had a good time regardless.
Nothing broke, no leaks and I couldn't be happier.

Nothing too technical and the rocks were small. This is the only pic I have.

    More to follow.

    Yeah, I hear you.
Next on the list is to build a front skid, install the rear Diamond (when it arrives) and get it to the paint shop.

    More to follow.

I have the all pro bumper as well and can't for the life of me find a good spot to install the solenoid box for my m8000, it was easy on the ARB I had because there was a bracket for it. Did you move yours into the engine bay ?

I did move it, it sits to the left of the battery. The remote solenoid is between the OEM air box and fender edge.

The pack fits between the radiator and the grill, mines zip tied to the grill with some big ass zip ties and has been like that for 10yrs now, works great!

Awesome man, very happy for you.

And that engine bay is way too clean. Gotta get some dirt in there:D

So I took it out for some flex shots.
The DS tire is just getting into the bumper so I stopped there. I'll need to trim approximately 3/4" off of each side for full stuff.
As for droop, there are 3" remaining on the shock.

    More to follow.

    Looking good!

The corners of my ARB front bumper had to be :sawzall:for clearance. Not a big deal and it is not that noticeable.

From the pic, does your panhard has a bend in it? Thought the golden rule was for it to be straight...though I've seen many rigs with bent panhards, especially jeeps.

    Just curious...

    You see correctly.
It has two bends in it. No bumpsteer at all.
I still need to do more research as to why the DS wheel hops.
    More to follow.

That golden rule is for lowers and uppers. Panhard doesn't see as much force.
