Me, too. Especially when they don't pose the risk of crashing down on you in the middle of the night. The previous owner did a terribly shitty job of installing the original fan, with machine screws threaded straight into the super thin metal (not even a full thread thickness) of the box with no washers or backing nuts.

That's where the bar is going. Reclaimed bar wood (had to buy a metal detector) with walnut tops starting this week. Maybe.

Started ripping my roof of Thursday. Toyota calls me Friday morning to tell me my frame is in and can I bring my truck in monday.... I have to take the lift off the truck and flat bed it to the dealership. They know this and I expected a little more heads up.

Thanks, they were doing offering a class on it nearby, (800$) I like learning because I'm self taught in all this, but I'm also cheap, so Its coming along, and I'll save my money for a different class.

Got my room primed Saturday, stayed up until 1:00 Monday morning taping it, left school early today and got the ceiling painted and now I'm working on taping the walls for the center stripe (blue stripe on grey walls, grey stripe on blue walls) and it's no fun at all making sure the tape goes on level.

Tip if you don't know this yet (ignore if you do): When you paint two colors with tape, after the tape is installed on the grey wall, paint over the edge of the tape with the grey paint first. This way any bleeding under the tape will be grey - this will fill in any small air bubbles under the tape. Then paint the blue over that and when you pull the tape off there will be no blue bleeding under the tape, and a clean crisp grey/blue line.

I have something similar to that but it sits on a tripod, I set it up and double checked it by measuring from the floor and baseboard and its was over 1/2" off on 2 walls so I ended up measuring from the ceiling down with a straight edge to make sure the upper half was consistent as I think the eye is drawn to the upper half and I would rather have inconsistencies where you're less likely to notice them.

I just read that the other evening on a blog, never tried it before but I think it'll work nicely.

Had to replace the drain pipe on our AC unit today, got home from school and water was dripping from a return down into the living room.
Turns out some little pieces of insulation from the panels around the coil were flaking off and clogging the 3/4" pvc drain.
    image.jpg

What's aggravating is the previous owners must have known about it because there was a towel stuffed around the pan that wasn't more than a few years old, but they didn't mention it to us.

Were the main drain and the back up drain lines both clogged? I'm confused how it'd be dripping on your ceiling if just one was clogged.

That sure looks like airborne contaminates and algae from lack of maintenance you need too put some pan tabs in to help control that future build up or hook up a wet vac a few months and suck that shit out....

At least you were getting paid for it, I only spent about an hour re-plumbing it though so it wasn't to bad.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they wouldn't disclose it as it was a pretty simple fix.

This unit is only setup with a main drain pan, the secondary drain line was capped off.
It's an updraft system and the intake is a design that pulls from both upstairs and downstairs, when the pan overflowed it dropped water down onto the filter in the ceiling downstairs and then that dripped onto the downstairs floor.

It's the texture of insulation and the insulation for the panel that you pull off to access the unit is in bad shape.
This weekend I'm gonna clean the coils, flush the pan and then add some tablets to hopefully keep everything running smooth.
Also got some duct insulation to replace the insulation that's on the panel.

Roofs done over the house, garage next in a few weeks. Someone drove by taking pictures, then by the time I was down to try and catch them the town stopped by. So either they called or I'm getting an Osha fine for no fall protection, which won't matter since it's my house. Ugh hate roofinh

Roofing is one of those things were it's not bad if it's only once and a while. But anymore then a few days of it and it sucks. Or it's hotter then hell out.
