I add a 1/2"(flange thickness) to account for wheel width vs rim width when I'm figuring backspace.
I guess theirs actually measures 1/4".
    Should clear fine...

Splitbolt, you seem to know your stuff. I just joined here and was hoping you could help (or anyone else!). I'm getting a 2" OME full suspension lift on my 2008 4x4 trd sport double cab taco. It seems like the best tire size without trimming even with the lift is a 265/70/r17. I'm also thinking of getting some Fuel Anza wheels that are 17x8.5 and come in either +6 or -6 offset. I believe that means 5 or 4.5 BS? I'd rather my wheels not stick out much, but would the +6(5 backspace) fit ok? Current stock wheel specs are 17x7.5 +30 offset (5.5 backspace). Thanks!!!

I would think so; plenty of guys running OME with the stock wheel.
You gain clearance from the suspension/steering components with less backspace.

You are correct on all your backspaces.

    +6 offset(5"BS) on a 8.5" will protrude 1.5"

    -6 offset(4.5"BS) on a 8.5" will protrude 2"

I just got this reply from someone else(not in this forum) after asking the same question...is this accurate?

"Hi,Joe,if you stock rims offset is 30mm.it is not compatible to use rims that have 6mm offset. It is very possible to make your brakes collapse your wheel spokes"

Assuming you keep the same width rim, he is correct.
    But you're not, so...

After reading and reading I just have to ask the experts.
Ok 6.5" lifted 4x4 2008 double cab, I saw these lonestar wheels I love but can only get them in a 20x9 5.5 bs and +14mm offset. Gunna put on 33's
How will this look or work? I'd love it to stick past fenders just a bit.

    Thanks in advance

Too much backspace; brings the tire too close to the spindle IMO.
Sticking out passed the fender will probably require a cmc.

Thank you very much.. So should I be looking for a 4.5 backspace with a 0 offset on a 20 by 9 instead?

4.5" is much better; allows extra clearance after lifting.
9" is still pretty wide. 1" less backspace will mean another additional inch of protrusion.
That'll have a lot more scrub and definitely puts you in cmc territory.

Can anyone confirm these Black Rock Lobo steel wheels fit the 2016 taco? Seems like the one I highlighted would, ty

I’m planning on buying some Trail Team rims for my 2017 SR5, in 16” x 7.5” with 15mm offset which will replace the silver 16" x 7" spoked alloy rims that are on it, and I don’t know what the offset they have.

I know the 16” x 7.5” Trail Team rims will fit my 2017, but what I was curious about is how much farther out approximately will the face of the rim be compared to the stock alloy wheels, and I assume that the Trail Teams 15mm offset is positive.

For the time being since the 245 / 75 R16 tires only have 3000 miles on them I’m planning on running them on the new Trail Team rims for awhile, and then going with 265 / 70 R16’s.

Here is a pic of the rims that are on my 2017

Thank you! I'm looking to go with a 17x8 wheel with +5 offset. Wondering if I can squeeze a 285/70/17 under a pro without cutting the cab mount. Says i'll have 5mm less inner clearance and extend an extra 21mm

    285s are a tough fit.
Because you increase the outer steering arc, it's usually the outside edge of the tire that hits.
