The rumble strip vibration can be corrected with a leaf spring kit from Toyota bro. The buzzing vibration in the steering wheel is a whole different issue.

Got a few theories on vibration issues.
Has anyone gone to an aftermarket transmission mount? Or maybe go pro it.

Ive seen vibrations from some after market transmission mounts same size etc but the rubber made all the difference.

Intermediate steering shaft is loose? Something else there is loose (go pro) and needs a muffler clamp to tighten up the slack?

Well I just had the dealer service Mgr tell me that its the injectors causing the steering vibes I could do noting but laugh at him and he asked me what was wrong with that finding. I said it sounds like you just pulled that out of your ass because you don't know what it is...!

I would think Toyota knows exactly what the problem is.My guess is probably the fact that it uses non hydraulic engine mounts like those on the Lexus and would be too expensive to replace at this point. This could probably be confirmed if this engine uses them in the new Highlander which reviews say is butter smooth running.Man I wish this could be fixed as is ABSOLUTELY drives me crazy!

I'm not any kind of mechanic but in my experience in light duty common rail diesel's such as 6.7 cummins and tdi I different fuels would cause a mild vibration more so a mild buzzing vibration as the topic suggest. I can say 100% this was it just what I concluded over my several years of diesel. I haven't experienced the buzzing vibration in the Tacoma as I've only test driven one. I couldn't ever tell a difference in fuels with my HUEI injected powerstroke.

Thanks, Now I am wondering since they don't have the same motor mounts as the Lexus could this be a factor? and If I am seeing it right this motor has the exhaust manifold built into the heads or am i wrong on that? The vibration is driving me nuts as well..

Just picked mine up from 15,000 mile service. Service manager was pretty upfront about it,said they and Toyota were aware of the issue and they verified the problem in mine.Per the SM it is a sympathetic vibration from the exhaust,no fix from Toyota at this time.I plan on pushing the issue until there is a fix or till I sell the truck, whichever comes 1st.

I wonder if the mounts will cross between the two?

Engine mounts are different, exhaust isolators are just your standard rubber ones found on many vehicles

So has this been determined to be due to the needle bearings?

And I wonder, for people experiencing a resonating exhaust. I wonder if a hemholtz cavity somewhere on the headers/exhaust could reduce that noise.

This vibration is not related to the needle bearings.

It is either Transmission, shaft angles or motor mounts is my guess...

I have had my truck in twice for this issue and the Master tech at my dealer has said its related to valve body or exhaust....

My 2017 just started doing this around 800 miles and now it's really noticeable at 1200 miles. I'm not going to read through 100 pages of thread, but it seems to me to be an issue with the brake pedal or something attached. I can tap the brake pedal while driving and can hear the buzz change a little.
