New to Vermont, need to upgrade

    Yea I'm going to go with the DuraTrac 265/75R16's.

    I'm still up in the air about getting a small lift at the same time as getting the tires switched out. There is a ton of information on this forum about this that its making my head spin.

    Keeping in mind I do not want a significant "lift".. How much more clearance would I get if I had Bilstein 5100's installed all around and had the front set at 0.85? I do like have the back a little higher than the front. Is it worth getting 5100's all around or get something different for the back? Guess I'm not sure the benefits of getting shocks or coils for the front.

    5100's with stock springs at .85 would give you (I'm guessing) anywhere between .85 to 1 inch of lift. If you search around here I'm sure you could find some exact numbers for your specific truck using that set-up. You may also want to consider the ride becoming a little stiffer if the stock coil is preloaded.

    What I plan on doing is 5100's up front with OME 884 springs, and a 3-pack AAL in the rear from wheelers. Rear shocks will either be 5100's or OME.
    884's should be around 2 inch lift (depends on truck) and the 3-pack is a nicer rider compared to a single AAL from what I've read on here (giving about a 1.5 inch lift).

    A key thing to remember is that 2.5 to 3 inches of lift in the front and you will most likely need new UCA's to correct the geometry for a proper alignment.

    Kinda late here sorry.
    I don't post much or visit much anymore.
    I had my 5100's @ .85 installed at baileys spring shop in Essex jct.
    Good guys, kinda old school they did it without an appt.
    Pretty glad I had them do it. They did the alignment also.
    They handled my truck with kids gloves pretty cool. Even ask if it's ok to use a impact on my lugs.
    They had replaced my broken leafs for me in the past. In the past haha every yr was one side or the other.
    Kinda funny seeing my little truck in with the big rigs. They had spring packs I wouldn't be able to even carry in truck!!!
    After the recall springs were put on my truck last November I was going to raise the 5100s at home.
    Really not a great garage set up pretty basic, anyway checked to see if J&L in St. Albans could do an alignment for me once I got done.
    They offered to lift them to 1.75 from .85 and charge 1 hr labor to do it.
    J&L scratched and scuffed up the shocks and coil springs.

    I would use Baileys again for suspension stuff I don't want to tackle.
    There's the 4x4 center in Burlington also. I've not had any dealings with them but have heard mostly good about them.

    This just sounds like a good freaking deal and a good time!
    I need to do my rear wheel bearings at some time. :cheers:
