Just emailed Glassworks about getting custom glass bedsides done. I love the way their fnders and bedsides look, I think a bobbed version would look badass on here.

Craigslist score. Found a full cutting rig 2hrs away for $200. Went and picked it up tuesday after work. Made for a long day but sure as hell made life easier this weekend

    IMG_20161015_190415611.jpg

Front axle is out and cleaned, so are the shock hoops and brace. I probably spent 8-10 hrs this weekend just grinding. Without the torch I woulda beed screwed, so I'll call it a success.

Before I started my SAS, when I considered doing it myself, I ran the numbers for all the tools I needed to buy plus the rent for a garage since I had no space to do the work. Came to the conclussion that paying a builder to do the work would be just as expensive but way more convenient and less stressful.

Good score on ebay for that torch!

This weekends progress. Crawl box and FJ cases are in place. I ordered the Triplesticks last week (http://www.radesignsproducts.com/triple-sticks-1.html) so I'll wait to cut a hole in the floor pan untill it comes in.

    IMG_20161022_162320442.jpg

Most importantly the hole in my frame next to the driver side cat has been repaired. Burned most of the rust out with the torch, then plate the top, bottos and face of the rail with 1/8 plate, fully seem welded. It could rust out again....but it'll be a while

    IMG_20161021_184800477.jpg IMG_20161021_161656500.jpg

Next weekend I get to cut out that damn tras cross member and fix/plate that section. That will be that last of the frame repair. I didn't get a picture but I also plated over the holes where the IFS crossmember used to be.

And in other news next weekend I'm swapping out diffs in my DD Tacoma. The 4.56s are getting swapped for 4.88s, which should work much better in the mountains with my 37s.

Progress is slow, but its happening

Just the guy I wanted to ask a question, since you also have a 6speed truck

Do you have bolts in these locations? Nothing i saw lined up. Threads were on the wrong side, ect but it seems like there should be a couple bolts along this botom edge between the trans and the adapter plate

I didn't put any sealant between that plate and the trans, ission since the SHOULDN'T be fluid there. Did you? I sealed every other surface, but I figued if all my Thrans fluid exited the gear box and ended up in that protion of the case I would want to know about it. Am I wrong?

Pick up a grinder and head to the shop. You can be part of the story :D

***Side note, Autocorrect changed that sentence to "Pick up a ginger and head to the shop. You can be part of the story :D " which woulda worked also, for a completely different story***

I don't know how I missed this earlier. I'll do a shackle flip from SOS concepts when we replace the rear springs. I have a set of 5" lift Chevy 63s somewhere. That'll probably be way too much lift but we'll see. I may pull a leaf out before I install them.

Spent some time with the torch and a grinder friday. Took a while but I managed to cut the trans crossmember out withoug popping a hole in any of my brake lines or setting the truck on fire
    .IMG_20161028_112746858.jpg

Plated the face of the frame rail and the bottom with fresh 1/8 plate. That should last a while and give me a good place to weld the trans mount and skids to
    IMG_20161028_152504970.jpg

Next weekend I start working on the trans mount provinded my bushings come in in time.
