Found this in a google search, and am having some potential issues with a replacement windshield that I had installed back in January.

The "drip molding" (black rubber trim piece that runs the length of the cab from front to back) on my driver's side has come off (no idea where it is, assuming on the side of the road somewhere...) and happened some time since the windshield was replaced. I called Safelite, who installed the new windshield, to try and file a claim for them to replace this missing piece, and was told that they do not tamper with that part whatsoever when replacing a windshield. However, while looking at it, it appears to me that this piece actually goes underneath the seal of the windshield itself. Am I getting the runaround? Is there any way I can prove my case if this part does indeed get tampered with in any way when replacing the glass? I really don't want to dish out $100 bucks on the part, plus whatever labor costs there may be...

It has nothing to do with the windshield replacement. It has happened to several people on this forum. T-SB-0079-11 TSB Roof Drip Molding.

Dont know what the big deal is about windshield replacement. I got a rock hit on the windshield last summer and had it replaced with USAA recommended Safelite glass. They did it in the parking lot and it has been absolutely fine. I dont know where the new glass was made (don't really care) but it is just as clear and quiet as the OEM glass. If there was a problem I would go back to the installer and have them fix it. Why whine here?

    Here is my storie.
Yesterday a transport that did nt cleaned properly his float, well a rock came right towards me at about 100 kilomteres,me going the oposite direction,so imagine the impac.
My winshield is done, hit my side right in the bottom corner of it.
So,our great governement put a new law last June that all insurance companie is charging 500 dollars deductible for a replacement.
What a rip off.I am looking if there is a specialist that do the work at better price, which i doubt.
Can beleive that we pay all our lives for insurances, and for?.
Insurances can be good, but i think they are just legal robbers.
Whenever we need them,it s always a pain somewhere..

Hey don't throw stones at insurance companies, here in Florida insurance companies replace windshields 100% and waive the deductible as long as you have comprehensive coverage.

Was nt talking about USA companies
    Canada.
But again, the governement inforced that law to companies that were charging too much.
Anyways, would you be happy to pay 500 bucks just for the deductible?

We would have to pay what ever our deductible is on all other glass except windshield glass
