My old Jeep had the bf Goodrich Ta/Ko tires on it which I liked, however the research I did said they're old technology and suck pretty hard on wet roads, but ranked the Cooper discoverer AT3 best all around. Thoughts on that?

Cooper makes good tires. I've had them in the past and liked them. It was between the AT3 and the General Grabber AT2 for my new setup. This time I went with Generals.

I've had my Cooper Adventurer ATs (Pep Boys specific Cooper At3) for exactly a year. They're good tires. Louder than Michelins, but not near as loud as Firestones or (insert brand) MTs. They feel grippy enough, do well in rain, no cupping or uneven wear. I run my psi a little higher for highway mpg and they handle just fine. Here they are new. The edge of the outer tread has worn down, but not too much, as I need to swap UCA's to aftermarket:

I did a lot of research on tires and this is the one I found the best reviews on. Best overall on road and off. It's not a serious AT tire so if your goal is serious mud or off road use then maybe something else would be better. I however wanted a great street tire that handles well in the rain, looks aggressive, and also does well on moderate off road trails. Cooper at3 all the way!

Thanks! That's sort of the conclusion I came to too.

Have had the Cooper ATP for a year. Great in the desert sand and the gravel mountain roads. No snow experience, but no problems in the rain. Much less road noise than other A/T.
And the price can't be beat.

I second the nominal road noise. it's present, but not "Good ol' boy rolling coal on worn down, cupped M/Ts."

Just grabbed mine off the discount tire ebay sale. 265/75r16 for $380 before the $70 visa gift card. For $310 net, they are a steal!!!! Had a set on my 4runner and loved them.

Imwas going to do that, but then my local shop charges more to put tires on thats not purchased through them, no road hazard and charges for rotation every time. So i decided to just go through them. Im gettin them for 575 mounted balanced, road hazard and lifetime rotation with free roadside and towing included.

You made out like a bandit. I think mine were in the $700 realm.

Yea, i bought some once online and seemed to have alot of probs out of them, this was about 10 years ago, so i always try and buy them local, at a locally owned shop now. At least that money stays local for a little while, lol

Might be looking into these or the ST Maxx when my factory Goodyear wrangler tires wear down. They seem to have a similar style tread, but more aggressive looking shoulders.
