You are not going to be able to get 12s under your seat. That would require some serious fabrication and some cutting of the truck. People have put 8s and 6.5s under the seats but anything larger than an 8 wouldnt fit. You are going to have to put 12s behind the seat, in a box that sits on the seat, or do a bed cut.

If you are trying to keep your backseats the only way to fit 4 12's in your tacoma is to do a blowthrough.

Most of my back wall is gone compared to this old pic, but I have been through a good amount of different configurations now.

If you aren't willing to sacrifice your bed space and/or cut through your back wall you may as well stick to what you can fit into small boxes. Or you could put a shell over your bed and make a tall box that ports through your back window.

@jad3d what is your current setup for the blowthrough? I have looked at going that route

2 12"s aren't enough? What equipment are you running? The right air space in a single 10" or12" enclosure can and will blow away poorly designed enclosures.

@Nergmorts Gotcha. I've never wanted to level buildings and houses as I drive by, but I can understand where you are coming from. I'd rather have clear crisp highs with nice accurate bass as opposed to thundering bass that can be felt a mile away :)

4 Dayton Audio UM12 in a 6th order bandpass. Took me a week to design the box, another 4 days to build it. Crushes the lows and still has impact up to 80hz. Next box is already designed (quasi 6th)...just need to build it.

My bed is nothing but box, batteries and amps. It all sits under a hard tonneau cover and I can't find a shell that looks just right on an xrunner so I'm currently limited to low clearance boxes.

Well if you are willing to cut up your truck... You may be able to get some very shallow mount 10s under there. I would definatly require a sealed fiberglass box, however i would be concerned with airspace. Without the proper airspace the subs are not going to perform to potential.

I think that with 4 12s you should do a bed cut and put them in the bed of your truck. That way you can build a nice that will house all 4 subs together and have the required airspace, and you wouldnt be limited to shallow mount subs also.

What's back there now? How much power? Maybe you can do more with the space you already have?

And what Zac said. You don't have the airspace for 12s under the seats.

@rob feature there's 2 MB Quart M-Line 12s running off a 1000 watt amp . I'm most likely gonna build a new box with more airspace.

I'd say there's a lot of room for improvement in the drivers. You can get a good bit more out of that space.
