My truck was beaten up by hail damage in March... our area was hit so hard it took till mid JULY to get it in a shop at all, and then they kept it for a friction month to have me go pick it up and find damage that was not there prior to putting it in the shop... along with some hail repairs not done at all... Anyway, what I have is a base model Access cab 2014 5 lug Tacoma that has the Matte Finish on all the interior trim bits. They evidently didn't protect the interior of the truck when they were spraying paint and got the White exterior paint on many of the trim parts and had to replace a bunch of it. The A/C vent registers and the dash trim bagel around the Instrument cluster, and the lens on the cluster, and the radio trim were spattered in paint and a couple of other items... Evidently, the radio was painted as well, since they used some kind of chemical or compound and tried to clean it up to the point that it now is polished and shiny almost glossy black instead... The radio is a whole different issue, since it's a $2500 item and the cost has them doing everything they can to avoid doing anything at all about that... but I have friends in the repair biz so I may be able to restore my radio trim and take them a bill as well... The amount of damage they caused to the interior of my truck has come to about $1900 so far... That doesn't include the Back glass they had to replace. They charged me and the insurance company almost $7k to repair all the damage... and create more.

So my issue is this... I am looking for a trade for a Matte finish black trim bezel that I am willing to trade for the NEW REPLACEMENT one the dealership and body shop have found for it... it's not right. The one they go for it is the Black Metallic finish and it's super glossy. I find it annoying and not acceptable. My truck has only 25k miles on it, and having it mis matched is unacceptable. I went to the dealer directly and ordered a second one (my intention was to take the bill to the body shop if it was correct), but it came in exactly the same as the one the body shop obtained for me. They ordered 2 different ones and both came in the same finish... Toyota has their inventory screwed up, or the body shop and dealership are working together to screw me... ( I know, I'm really not a conspiracy theorist, this was just a statement of frustration). I just want my dash stuff to all match.

I have the factory original one with the messed up finish, the new one with the Shiny Metallic black finish... but all I want is the correct one. Willing to trade straight up to someone who would like the glossy bit. I'm getting ready to paint the original Flat Black, but I also know I will never match the sheen, so It's not gonna do much good... So...

If anyone is interested, Please text me at two one 4 four 5 ate, Oh eight seven Five. Just ask to trade and send me a pic of what you have, and I'll return a pic of the one I want to trade as well. I'd like the piece I'm trading for to be very nearly new looking. Hopefully some other person is in the reverse predicament I am in.

Thanks... and avoid body shops. They're a damn racket. Nowadays they seem to be full of hacks and noobs around here. I am located in the Dallas Area (Texas) if that matters or helps.
