Made the weiner a coat today. The fabric is light weight and waterproof. Insulation is Climashield apex 5oz. Best part is it compacts to about the size of a baseball easily so we can always bring her a coat for camping. I'll be making a more polished version that's a little longer in a week or two.

Thinking about getting new tires while the discount tire eBay store is doing $100 off over $400. I can get duratracs for $800.

Looking for snow performance and i don't think the bfg at's will give me what I want. Also looking at the copper st maxx. Any thoughts?

Only downfall to the duratrac would be longevity. I wish I could get 50k out of this next purchase since I might be moving between jobs a lot in the next 3 years.

I've had duratrac's, and now have the coopers. The coopers have been great in every situation I've had them in. They seem to be wearing well, snow and ice traction seems as good or better than duratracs. They also seem to stand up to rocks better than the duratracs.

I'll look at costs but I really like the look of the coopers. Lots of people run them here but I haven't talked to anyone about snow.

I have no doubt they will perform great in summer conditions.

Also, need new wheels. Either babyt is getting new wheels and the cruiser gets the F5s or the cruiser get cheapos and the old MTRs

Monte was whining about the maxx's being loud but i'm not sure if his opinion is valid since he came from street slicks on igor...? I was impressed with justins coopers running shoshone, sidewalls faired really well.

Noise isn't a big issue. These dang mtr's are howling now that they have around 20k on them. Eventually I'll install the noise reduction mats I have sitting in the garage .

Really just want a reliable tire, that will last a good while. I don't want to have to worry about replacing tires when I am in and out of tech jobs and barely making enough money for rent and such.

I need one new wheel but it's just slightly bent and I'll be using it as a spare once changed.

The new wheels are for the cruiser. It has 15's and it too needs tires. I'll be swapping the MTR's to that to finish out their life. So either the cruiser gets the old F5s, or some cheap steelies if I can find some.

I really enjoyed my duratracs on my old tacoma. They served me well on and offroad through the winter. I don't have any experience with teh coopers though.

Also dope little coat man lol thats pretty cool.

Cooper's are m+s rated I'm pretty sure. Really Monte is the only person I have read to say they are loud. Yeah there louder then street tires but pretty quiet for being a really aggressive a/t.

@FreidTaco how are the durarracs in 35? Still a huge fan? What mileage did you get out of them?

I have changed tires a lot in the relatively short amount of time I have owned my truck. I had duratracs, KM2s and now Cooper ST Maxx. In my opinion the Cooper ST Maxx isn't much better in the snow than the KM2s I had before it. They are significantly quieter though. The duratracs had excellent snow/icey road grip but wore terribly. I had them on for about 5k and they were wearing so fast that I ditched them quick while I could still get money out of them. The coopers are my favorite. They have gone everywhere my KM2s took me in the mud, sand, deep snow and rock without the noise on the highway and they are wearing pretty well. I have about 15k on them this year and they still have significant tread.

Damn, you haven't heard much good about the coopers in the snow. The wear on duratracs has been off and on. Some have no problems and others do. Might go with duratracs just for snow purposes. Having snow from nov-may makes snow performance high on my list.

Well i got them in april 2015... i have only put on 4,100 miles since then but I love em. I also run them on company truck. I average around 55k per set. Great in snow and excellent on ice.
