WTB -Purchased my Tacoma used with 70,000 miles day after purchasing took back to dealer due to hearing clunking notice on fdriver side they found nothing wrong but noise got worse so took it back on 2 different times after with same results not Im 100,000 miles and it's gotten so bad I've ordered parts thinking it was shocks and bought updated spc upper ball joints as this is what I was told could be my problem. Now the other day I was changing oil and just reached up and grabbed my front cv axle and it had a lot of play and realized I've found the problem so now it's on my dime as last time I was in dealer he suggested that I return it to stock but when purchased I payed extra for all upgrades that was done to truck compared to stock which is what I told this crook at at Toyota so looked at prices on front axles and to replace both Ill be over a thousand dollars my ? is does anybody have exsperiance with after market as I can get a set for under 200 with a warrenty which stock was already showing signs of being wore out at 70,000 .

I'm not sure, but I'm sure they are cheaper the brand new OEM....
I think if you go aftermarket it'll be a rabbit hole:D

How much lift does the truck have?

That is a part, that if the truck is lifted, would likely be voided warrenty wise as it is directly affected if the angles have been changed. Would have likely been on your dime anyways. Lifted=more wear and maintenance costs. Just the way it is, gotta pay for the ''cool'' factor or off road experience if you wheel.

Spend the money and buy quality, cheap in the beginning seldom means cheaper over the long haul.

Email them for a quote. You have to send them back Factory axles, no aftermarket ones.

Yeah I've read a couple reviews on ones for 200 for set its a USA company and figured for that price I could replace a couple times and still be ahead don't do much wheeling in this rig as I have another rig for that but put a lot of miles on it due to work going with a slightly smaller tire as mine are about due for replacing going Dom a 285-70-17 to a 265-70-17

CVJ is re-manufactured OEM axles but you can add upgrades to them. I just had CVJ build my LT axles and they run great. I just have to send back my old ones, like @Sandman614 said. They are $98 each plus a core charge. After all said and down with mailing old ones back you might be spending close to $410. Call or email them, great people to work with and very friendly. Steve explains everything to you if you have any questions.

OP, doesn't sound like CV. Does the noise go away in 4wd? To me it sounds like your needle bearing if its the driver side CV...
