Rokblokz are thinner, yes, they don't have an outside ridge like OEM's, Weathertech, Husky's.

Also they have slotted mounting points so you can slide the flap in or out a bit.

You can cut down the included spacer also for the innermost mounting point to give you a little more clearance inside. It's a good kit.

They're both actually the same size. For some reason the seller only has one dimension, but they are both 11"x19". So, yes they should still fit. They don't come stenciled at all so you'll have to predrill the mudflaps.

Just installed a complete set of OEM mud guards on my new Taco. Got them for $65.00 plus $8.99 shipping. Took about twenty minutes to install all four. As many TW readers know, they (unfortunately) are more plastic than rubber. Seem to be much like the ones I had on my '09 Taco and I never had any trouble with them (lucky I guess). But, I don't go off road much.

I just returned from a small vacation and this morning I walked around the parking lot at my motel. Counted 14 pickups on the lot. Only three had mud guards. I personally would never have a truck without them. I believe they offer lower body protection. Just my opinion.

Any pictures of what hardware you used to install and how you transferred the hole pattern?

Subd for more info on what hardware y'all used to install plasticolor flaps. I like the rockblox but fuck me, that is way too expensive.

I used factory bolts nothing more. Ill post pics tomorrow for you guys.

As for getting both sides the same I just flipped one upside down and trilled both at the same time once I had my first one marked. I did that for the front and rear and worked perfectly.

Not to sound like a dickhead but are you 100% sure those aren't for the front?

For what it's worth I went with Rokblokz and I love 'em.

yes 100% sure. Fortunately the the Toyota parts center is allowing me to return them even though they were installed. He said he's never seen other Tacomas with that trim piece. Now I'm concerned that if I buy husky or weathertech flaps they won't fit tight either. the rokblokz are too rich for my blood.

Well, at the very least I can verify my truck has those trim pieces too. Dunno what the problem is.

I agree that $150 for Rokblokz is pretty pricey but the material & ease of installation is top notch. I was definitely satisfied. Woulda preferred that they were like 90 bucks but I don't feel like it was a rip off at all.

The Weathertech fit perfectly around the trim. I initially bought OEM and was called back into the service bay during installation (late March) and saw that they did not fit. I was told there are 2 different styles for the 2016 and my style at the time wasn't available, so sales had ordered the wrong style. Fortunately I was refunded, which took over a month, then bought the Weathertech and installed myself in a few minutes.

The factory flaps are made for trucks with fender flares (All TRDs, Limited and I believe SR5 with Appearance Package?). Your SR doesn't have those which is what causes the gap. Believe weatherteach specifically sells a non-fender flare version. Plasticolors could also work.

I had some weathertech No Flare mudflaps on mine, they rubbed once i threw on my bigger tires. I then with with Rokblok XL's, they are big and work good. No more rubbing. They do have small gaps in the front, nothing major, thats my only complaint really. I have some weathertech No Flare flaps for sale if anyones interested. Minor tire rub marks on them haha!
