2015 Tacoma SB TRD Sport Thoughts on performance aftermarket exhaust? Looking at Borla vs. TRD Exhaust system. Is there a difference between borla and borla touring? Currently leaning toward Borla. Any feedback is appreciated.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. Most of the YouTube videos have the "S-type" muffler instead of the "touring" so i haven't been able to find a good comparison. The s-type makes it sound good, but hard to tell about the touring.

I did a fair amount of research between both the TRD and borla exhaust kits... and concluded that most Tacoma truck owners really should not become youtubers as a full time job. My want for an exhaust had gone away since installing my very good stereo last year... too much cabin noise raising the noise level obviously.

Anyway my take for what it's worth- I believe the borla is tastefully louder, slightly, than the TRD. The TRD (made by Bosal) is loud when driven aggressively only (3k rpm and above). Both units sound better than on cold start up and also while idling. I probably would still get the borla if I were buying one.

I bought the Borla and didn't look back. Very high quality product. Sound is subtle inside the cab but turns heads outside. Don't expect any HP or MPG gain just awesome sound.

I have the TRD on my pro.
I've never had any experience with the Borla, but I love my TRD exhaust.

It's not annoying crusing around but it's there when you step on it.

I had a TRD Exhaust on my '15 before it got totaled. I loved the sound and I miss it every time I step on the pedal in my new (to me) '15. I already ordered another system. Couldn't live with out it.

    Another vote for the TRD.

I have nothing to compare it to, besides the stock exhaust, so take it for what it's worth. I was hesitant at first about getting it. I didn't want a loud, obnoxious exhaust. You hear it on start up, and at different rpms, (especially when you get into the throttle), but hear no difference on the highway (when cruising), and generally pretty subtle at secondary road cruising speeds. It's there when you want it, but not real noticeable when you don't.

    Doesn't exist.

Different noise is another story. That's in the ear of the beholder; so far I've not heard one worth spending my money on.

Just dont lose sight of reality. We are talking about a 6 cylinder motor, not a 350 cubic inch V8. You'll never achieve really great sound with these trucks.

I've had the TRD on my gen 1 and the Borla on my gen 2, I liked the sound of both. No regrets and way better sounding than stock!
It is up to you Ravistae what you want, not someone else's opinion on the matter.

I ended up getting the Borla cat-back with the touring muffler and 2.5" intermediate pipe. Not everybody's ears are the same obviously, but it's perfect in my opinion. It's slowly changing it's tone still as it gets "broke in" I guess, but it has been nothing but good changes so far. I love it. I was gonna put a sound system in my truck before this, but now I think it would be a waste of money because I don't even listen to music while driving around town because all I wanna listen to is my truck.

I agree 100%. No experience with the TRD, but I don't think you can go wrong with Borla on the 4.0.
