Nothing too exciting today but adding weather stripping for my campershell. Also, getting the camper shell color matched at MAACO for 290 out the door! Hopefully will pick her up tomorrow or Friday! Oh, and just ordered Por 15 and Itch to do the frame! Just need to get me an air compressor and a needle gun!

Picked up my Campershell from Maaco. The color match looks spot on! Maybe not the cheapest camper shell after the paint (675 bucks for shell and paint job). But being in New Mexico it's a lot harder finding shells that fit and especially in the color to match. So far I'm happy with it! And is it just me or does the shell seem too far away from the back window? That gap looks huge to me sometimes and sometimes it looks okay.

675 is sweet deal since became like new camper, Nice! Regarding the gap don't know other camper owners should jump on the opinion, what just came to my mind is aerodinamics and wind blow noise , can the gap get close and how, necessary or not? Idk , for sure I got a gap on the driver door that over 50mph makes noise like air entering in the cabin, ( weather strip looks fine) anyway to be fix later, different topic, good for you and the new camper:thumbsup:

Bought this kit from Amazon for 310 bucks to change out the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat. A little too intimidating of a job by myself so had a friend hook me up with his mechanic buddy and installed it for 250 bucks. I didn't want to spend the money to replace it but glad I did sounds like the water pump was shot!

It's been a few months since I've touched the truck but finally upgrading the shocks!!! So excited to finally be able to go over bumps! King Coilovers up front and Billies 5100 in the rear. Will eventually upgrade the rears to Kings Resi's but need leaf springs first. I've never been a big fan of the Kings blue color but after seeing them in person they are beautiful!!

Well, it's a bittersweet day! The rust on the truck was too much and was going to be a pain in the ass to replace the shocks. It would be around 4000 to get new shocks installed plus front and rear brakes. There was so much rust that many parts would have to be replaced to just do the brakes. Long story short I should have never bought this vehicle and got suckered by the dealership. So I traded her in and got an awesome deal on a 2012 FJ Cruiser that is rust free!

Wow... sorry To hear that Andrew when it seems you had already tuckled the rust in frame...and the king coils were ready, now make me wonder rust damage in mine will allow change coils when time comes? Barely 93K the truck was still a baby.. how much they gave u on the trade in?...so you think was not fixable or too much to deal with?... anyway... Im sure you know and if you like FJ then that is what counts.... wish those kings on mine when i grow up..

Yeah, I was pretty bummed but happy with the way it worked it. If I had the cash laying around it would be great to fix her up but just too much especially since who knows what else would need to be changed in the future. I got 11k for the truck and the FJ was 22 with only 86000 miles on here. Took about a 1500 dollar hit but still below KBB with the hit. I think your truck had way less rust then mine so you should be fine.
