Switch help

this the switch that came with the wiring harness.......

the red wire is hot.....and is directly wire to the battery when using this switch it does not light up until the switch is on





and here is a wiring diagram for the Air On Board Switch i have and i can not for the life of me figure how to wire the thing in..

 

Were's your relay? It's the relay that will power the lights via the battery. The switch mearly interrupts the signal wire.

 

I might be confused at what you're asking.

 

the white black red into relay white and black out of relay the second red is direct to battery

 

Try switching the black and white. Looks like the same thing I had.

 

Would need a drawing of how you have it wired to answer correctly. But if it's a lighted switch...the ground wire (usually black) is there to light up the switch when it's on...and should be grounded not running to the relay.

Typically the other 2 wires are your signal wire and the switch interrupts that lead.
