I know this is repetitive, but I would appreciate a solid vote depending on ya'lls opinions. Keep in mind, tread life is important for me, I cant afford to spend $1000 every few months just for tires.

I do about 75%-80% on road driving which will include lots of rain and snow/sleet in the next few months. But after that, it will be mostly relatively dry pavement.

The other 20%-25% would be offroad driving which will include terrain from clay like mud, to sand, and gravel/dirt roads.

I understand the S/T Maxx and K02 are both all terrain tires, and the STT Pro is more of a mud terrain, but I've read that the Pro has more traction in rain/snow (?) I appreciate any and all answers and thank you for your time.

    @Aussiek2000

You seem to have opinions on Cooper threads. What about the Pro vs Maxx?

I've ran them both, in various sizes.

On road- same feel, maxx is significantly quieter

Off-road- Pro is better when things get soupy/muddy. Maxx is better in sand/gravel.

Snow- I haven't ran the pro in snow yet but the maxx did phenomenal.

Rain- at 70+mph the pro gets a little squirrelly but nothing crazy.

Both balanced out with minimal weight. I wouldn't hesitate to buy either again. If you off road a lot and need maximum traction, the pro is for you. Otherwise the maxx is a great tire

Thanks I pretty much ruled out the maxx due to the weight to the others compared. It's down to the K02 and the Pro. I could get them pretty much at the same price. How much mileage do you think the Pros compared to the K02s would last?

No idea. I change my tires too often. Lol. But I'll say that my pro's still had the little dots on them past the 5-600 mile mark

2000 miles on my last maxx's the tread wore less than half a 1/32". I don't have anything to measure any more in detail last that

First off, not a KO2 Homer. That said after 20k miles I'll say they are wearing well, still have over11/32nds left on all 4. The dry traction is very good. The cons, they seem to be losing wet grip slightly and probably need to be balanced for only the second time. Aired down to 12 psi they didn't track all that well in beach sand. In cold weather they feel like they need to build heat before the ride right. They did perform great in snow when new, but I'm waiting for snow to see if that has fallen off now that they have some wear on them. I'm getting wheels in the spring and will probably go with Nitto's.

ill say this not having experience with the other two. When we got that rain the other day going onto a round onramp at my normal speed I fishtailed all over the place with my kO2s. Scary as hell. My fault also for not taking it slower, but honestly they took awhile to regain traction. First time in the rain with them. Other than that theyve been great.

I've never had this concern with the coopers. But the pros tend to get just a little squirmy at 75+ in heavy rain, but nothing crazy or uncontrollable. But you're hard pressed to break them loose otherwise.

good to know as I've been looking into coopers for my next set. It was about 35 getting onto a flat onramp with drizzle, although a very wet road with mostly likely plenty of oil from big rig trucks near the port of LA

May not even have been a tire issue in that case. I've driven other vehicles and have hit oil on exit ramps after it hasn't rained for a while, it'll make you pucker up

I've had BFG KO original and now the ST Maxx and I think the Maxx is a nicer looking tire, better wet traction, and will do better in deep stuff. I think they will wind up being every bit as good as the BFG's on ice. The BFG's are quieter and will likely last you longer but I'd take the Coopers, hands down.

They offer some C load tires too. I got the 255/75r17. I really like the size and love the 6 ply option rather than the 10.

What is the weight difference between the MAXX and PRO? Is it that big of a gap? Looking in the 255/80-17 MAXX

I like that they offer load C in that size. How's your power and mpg with these?

I never measured. But my 285/70-17 pros weigh less than my 255/80-17 maxx did just by picking them both up

Edit: just noticed my phone corrected never to beaver. Lol

285/75/16. I have that size in KM2s right now and I'm not prepared to go through winter with these tires lol.

They're on my Sequoia and I honestly didn't notice a difference in power or mpg. I still get over 21mpg if I drive like an old man.

The clay like mud to me would negate the KO2's, they would just turn in to slicks. The maxx is more a hybrid tire and would do better in the mud than the KO's but not as well as the Pro's. Spending almost 25% of the time off road I would go with the maxx at minimum, hybrids are the way to go for those that off road a DD a good amount. Better road attributes with good packed snow and ice manners and better mud manner and good off road overall. I voted Maxx...

^ignore this^ I'm dumb and thought the K02s weighed less, when in reality they weigh more. My bad.

EDIT: Looking into the Maxx more, people are saying Cooper published the weight wrong? Maybe they do weigh more than K02s. Sigh*
