Anybody got any recommendations for a good shop to polish a crankshaft around Fort Walton Beach? Or anything out to possibly Pensacola or Panama City? Preparing myself for the worst...haha

    Be careful on Eglin!!

Yesterday me and a work buddy went riding in Eglin as we have many times. We were in a "inactive" clay pit where tons of people have been before and range patrol showed up. We both got a $85 ticket and our permit suspended for 2 years for "driving in a restricted area". First offense for both. This pit was right off the road with no gates. Plenty of fresh tracks. I asked why so harsh for first offense? He said it was Jackson Guard that makes the rules. I can go there and appeal if I want. I'll pay the ticket with no problem. The 2 year suspension is ridiculous for first offense. I'm going some time this week to appeal the suspension. Just giving you guys a heads up.

Yep, the whole group got it a couple months ago. Everyone got a $50 fine and a one month suspension for being in one of those pits. They really should post a sign.

That's the military way! If it makes any lick of sense, do the complete opposite.

That sounds more reasonable than our $85/2 year deal. We asked about a sign saying "restricted" or something because it was obvious tons of people go in there. He said, "we don't need a sign, it's in the book of regulations that pits are prohibited". We looked, it's in there. Hopefully I can get something more reasonable with an appeal. Going to Jackson Guard tomorrow. Definitely not getting my hopes up.

We had a group of like 10 people in there get the $50/30 day thing. Maybe if you bring it up they'll reason with you.

Just moved down here from VA beach to crestview. I'm stationed in Eglin AFB and looking forward to meeting some of you guys. Any suggestions on where to run through by myself? No winch just yet, just looking for some trails to explore while I'm on leave.

I was in Norfolk for three years before coming to Pensacola. I love it way more here!

I'll give some recommendations tomorrow when I'm on my computer and not my phone.

Also, join the FB page if you haven't already. link is in post #1.
