This is with two aluminum flat spacers on the passenger side. It's off the paint but by a hair.

I wonder if it's normal for it to be that close. Was the other side also this close? I haven't gotten to the driver side yet

For those with close tolerances between the mount and paint have you verified with Frontrunner that you received the taller spacers specifically for the 2016? I only ask since my rack was sent with 2005-2015 spacers which are shorter and I had issues with clearance for both the shark fin and paint along the rails. I contacted them and they sent taller spaces within a few days. awesome customer support!

Yup drivers side only needed one spacer

I'm almost positive I got the right spacers...I cleared the shark fin by an inch or two..do you mind showing us a pic of your middle mounting point?

Okay I ran outside and snapped some pics. I apologize for the night shots and a filthy truck! I took pics from side, front, and back view so you can get an idea of the clearance for both vertically and laterally.

For me the mid and rear mounting points weren't an issue. The front mount is where i was originally concerned as I don't have much clearance.

Those are, in fact, a lot taller than mine on my 2016. Doesn't seem to be rubbing but it is extremely close to it.

it seems your foot rails are closer towards the inner side of the channel rather than the outer side...but yea those spacers are way taller than mine

Since they are slightly adjustable I just made sure to push them inboard when tightening. It might be worth a call to FR and ask them for a spacer kit since your clearance is minimal and you are experiencing contact with the gutter.

Got mine on. Nice fit, everything fell into place. More quiet than the OEM roof rack up to about 75 mph. Now to add a light bar up front.1021161340_zpsvlofnw4b_eae5e6b01eaf32f2c18963786698f44494ee63d9.jpg

To be honest, the strips have been removed from the kits because they aren't necessary. We still have some stock that has the strips in the kits, but it should be corrected shortly.

The factory holes follow a strange pattern along the roof, which makes it necessary to press the footrail inwards as you install to get the best fit.
