Help, can't get lower control arm to bolt back up to spindle

I have the lower control arm bolts loose. I can't not get the lower control arm close enough to the spindle to start the threads. I am jacking the lower control arm up with the jack. Please help.

 

Well, I got the drivers side. Passenger side is being a bitch

 

If they aren't lined up perfectly, it's a bitch. I usually let the LCA hover just a fraction of an inch below the spindle, so I can move all the pieces around more freely to get the bolts to line up. Once you get the first one started, the second is easier.

 

Stock UCA? might be the loaded bushings fighting by holding up the spindle a bit? Try loosening the long UCA bolt if you're still using stock UCA. Aftermarket with poly bushings shouldnt have this trouble, so I assume you've got the stock ones still and they're whats leading to your fight

 

I had the same thing happen once. The plate that the bolts go in was pivoted up and all I had to do was move it down. I felt like a dumb ass.

 

Maybe loosen up the lower control arm more

 

I got em. Man what a pita. They have to be lined up fricken perfect or nothing. Got the front done, hope to do the rear tomorrow.

good to hear. I was in that same position a few weeks back. Shit added like an extra hour as I furiously tried to get it to work, which it eventually lined up. You thought the front was bad.. it's a nightmare in the rear.. especially when you're doing a dakar set by yourself. Hope you got some dog bone wrenches, makes it a lot easier back there!
