No EZ Down Tailgate mod for 2013 Tacoma???

    Not for a weld. You'd wanna take a grinding wheel to the spot weld before trying, or you'd just round off the bolt head.

    Yeah, same here -2013 and no welds. I have an ez - down installed with zip tie mod. No issues.

    Honestly OP, I wouldn't even recommend putting one in your truck.

    I had one on my 08. It'll kink up the cable and it'll push the tailgate more towards the passenger side, it's a noticeable gap. I just ended up removing it.

    If you can remove the bolt on the right you can install it. If not it may just be lock-tite, and you can torch it to melt the lock-tite.

    20161024_123909.jpg Put a zip tie around the shock on the EZ down. It redirects the cable to correct position. After a few weeks or less, cable learns new path when closing.

    Yah. The zip with the connect on the top of the shock helps direct the cable.

    Someone else on posted another idea, let me see if I can find it.
