What's all the bad things about them?
    Do they ruin bearings?

Potentially. So do running wheels with more offset as well.. I've had them for like 50k and no issues yet.. get good ones, borla, spider trax.. you want ones that are hub centric. Don't over torque them either. From what I've seen all the fire and carnage you will hear about will turn out to be from someone using the impact on the lug nuts until it can't tighten any more and things go bad then

I ran 2" spacers on my first gen for 100,000 without any problems at all, I'm going to go 1.25 on my 07 as soon as I can accumulate some more extra cash.

They can prematurely wear the bearings out because the load of the truck is being shifted from the full surface of the wheel bearing to the side of the bearing. So now the side of the bearing is taking the majority of the weight, which it isn't meant to do. But hey, it is what it is. My wheels have 0 offset, which is basically the same as having a spacer as far as the bearing is concerned. If they wear out, Ill just replace them.
