Just a heads up for some people with aftermarket double Din radios, the Hd version was not a direct fit with my pioneer double din kit... Needed a slight modification.

Here you can see the two sections cut out for stock radios, where the aftermarket unit has three spots that need to be trimmed out:

Simple fix, mark the three spots on the aluminum backing plate, use a square file, or whatever other cutting tool you have around and cut out the recesses, I had to trim about 1/2 inch in each section:

Other than this the install is the same as in the directions, awesome product to have

How is the rough road retention of the phone? Does it shift around a lot? I bought the X-Grip for my iPhone 6 Plus, but I noticed the phone placement is critical, otherwise the bumpers hit the buttons.....

So you can buy peel in stick magnets that you can put on your phone that work amazingly well. This work very well on washouts dirt roads I can go over a speed bump at 35mph and the phone dosnt shift at all. The problem i was facing with the x grip was the removal aspect i had to actually get into my seat to be able to remove my phone. I am a short dude so it might not be a problem for those who do not suffer from being vertical challenge.

I used a Dremel, your method looks like it resulted in a neater end result.

Installed!! I went with double stick mounting tape instead of epoxy. I also used slightly longer cap screws in the bottom section. I was having a hard time getting them to catch with the provided ones and got frustrated. Thankfully, I had 2 in my inventory of random nuts/bolts/screws.

I might swap out the X-Grip for the magnetic mount, and I'm thinking I need to get an iPad Mini holder now too! I've also got the A-Pillar mod completed, so my truck has a lot of balls now!! :D:rofl:

Ordered the Tech Deck extreme duty last weekend and it showed up in the mail today. Thanks for the fast shipping! Have a bunch of stuff coming tomorrow and Friday and will work on installing it this weekend. Also thanks for the video @LoadedTaco and the phone magnetic phone mount idea (and links).

Been looking at this mount since it came out. Last week purchased a Galaxy TabPro S (12") in part to run a program that shows Aspen cuts and land cover in Mn. for ruff grouse hunting as an overlay to Google Earth. Don't get cell phone coverage in most of the areas I hunt so needed a large Tablet I could adjust and bump up stored cache. With a company name of Bird Dawg Industries I didn't have any choice but to go with the Tech Deck to mount it LOL.

Mounting the extreme was easy, especially after watching the video first. Have 12" tablet mounted and phone with magnetic mount. Had issues with the phone screen going half size when attached to the mount and found lots of posts out there with others having the same problem but no solutions. This is with Droid Turbo. Figured it had to be an app that relied on a magnetic sensor and sure enough turns out Motorola installs a flip case app that with a magnetic reduces the screen to fit into a window on the case and limits functionality. Uninstalled it and works like a champ, love the magnetic mount.

Have to mount 7" nuvi with onXmaps hunt topo on it yet, still figuring out arms and placement. Will put the Garmin Alpha on the A Pillar with the RAM mod so the long antenna can be up against the window. Hopefully have everything will be worked out by this weekend and will take pictures. This setup with so much device real estate and screen surface would not be possible without the tech deck as far as I know. Well done.

Installed a Tech Deck Extreme today, took about an hour plus 20 min. lunch, waiting on epoxy to cure. Looks built-in and it's rock solid. Fairly easy install, being careful not to surface scratch or break anything. Follow the website instructions and/or youtube has a good vid.

No more 7" GPS w/giant suction cup ram mount crashing to the floor. No more screen washout from back window sun glare, plus I have my legal non-obstructed windshield back... I was told by a LEO that it's possible to get a ticket for 'obstructed view', if there's too much chit on the dash. I wonder if the stock mirror half way down the windshield qualifies? Not to worry, I fixed that too with a BirdDawg mirror riser. These are by far the two best and easiest mods I've done. Amazing results! Thanks guys!

I've seen the question but not an answer
Can the mirror relocate bracket be used with the wired mirrors?
The ones with back up cameras and tempature stuff
