I'm gonna try and make it to Kevin's event this year, last year I was racing the entire D37 desert series, this year I'm just going to play more, racing is expensive!! National H&H and D37 killed my wallet..

    Haha I believe that!

I haven't been able to ride yet since my injury and I've been dying to get out there. Chilis' ride is usually the biggest ride I do every year since I haven't ponied up to do any H&H's yet. I know I may be pushing it coming back and trying to ride that ride so I think I'll stick to just doing the sidekick loop, and depending on how I feel I'll give the hero loop a go. My fitness is the best it's been in years besides the hole mcl/pcl/atrophied quad. Gonna get a few more goodies for the yz and hopefully I'll be good to go and have a few rides in before then.

Only do what you feel comfortable with, thats what really matters, that way you have fun and keep the suffering to a minimum! I'm weird, I like to test myself all the time, I tend to seek it out for some odd reason. Looking forward to racing Last Dog Standing for the 4th year in a row in June....talk about suffering!!

    Haha no thanks!

I'll at least try the small loop and if that's all I can take I'll just stay back at base camp and drink everyones beer.

Thats what makes the world go around, we got all types here.
I'm hoping Darren Falcone comes out to the ride again, I think he won last year, I was battling with him all last year in D37, He got me by 1 race, I ended up 4th O/A in D37 40+ Expert and he got 3rd, damnit, lol. I gotta get him back!!! Just some friendly competition.

FYI anybody who wants to ride let me know I am always looking for more riders to connect with, I have been riding for 30 years and just love to ride, 2 stroke or 4 stroke, it doesnt matter to me, I have both and a total of 6 bikes so I am an equal opportunity rider, ha. I am located in Vista, Ca (92083) so if anybody wants to ride within 2 hours or so of there feel free gimme a PM and lets meet up and burn some gas!

I like nasty terrain and big hillclimbs, rocky stuff, tight single track or WOT Desert, pretty much just happy to be on the pegs!

Anyway so what did you guys and gals do for the weekend?
I had a ride planned for yesterday and met up with 4 other buddies and we all went riding our bikes near Canyon Lake in Murrieta, lots of trails out there. Problem was it broke 100 degrees and was almost 80% humidity, pretty nasty weather for such a physical sport!!

One of our group came down a hill a little (actually a lot) too fast, couldn't stop and did a flying W for about 10 feet and augered into the dirt straight onto his dome! Scared me a little, scratched his helmet pretty badly and while normally quite chatty he became nearly mute. He's a pretty tough guy but tends to make a lot of mistakes, problem is he is trying to keep up with the rest of us and pushing past his ability which can lead to bad things, its better to slow down and be in control, maybe he will learn that someday before its too late.

So besides "Forkie" being overheated and ready to throw in the towel we proceed to find a bunch of other big nasty hills to climb up to see who would "Take the cup" needless to say our buddy Forkie, the one who had that glorious crash earlier, became a spectator and took all the Woman's ways around the rest of the hills. And Out of our total group of 5 riders I was the only one to clean all the hills in a single try except for one, had to come down and try again but made it with ease, doing one more another time while 3 of them were stuck, struggling somewhere on said hill, making sure to give them a bit of roost on my way by, hahaha. I am always very thoughtful of others during our rides!

I should have some video or pics at some point, waiting for him to post them up. I think he got the total crash on film, I was so glad I wasnt collected during his situation as I was off to the side a bit but had managed to stop, I was really hoping he wouldnt fixate on me! :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

If anybody here rides dirtbikes and likes tough technical riding let me know if you like punishment!:bikewheelie2::bikewhoops:

    BTW nice Beta! @Beta300rr

Been a while since i've visited this thread! Was able to go up for some trail riding this past weekend. Felt great to stand on some pegs and smell some smoke. Took my GoPro with me too, really should sort through it and post up some footage.

Here is my 2 stroke. First ever 2 stroke and first bike I bought on my own. 1997 cr125, Iv'e read its really the last good year of the cr125's. Thinking I'm going to tear it all apart this winter rebuild it and sell it then buy a ktm 200 since that would better suit my needs. How much do you think I could get out of it with he motor all rebuilt, pipe repaired, carb rebuilt, and radiator fixed or replaced( has a small leak).Maybe rebuild suspension, etc. And fix any other little things.

Not too sure about the market in Missouri, but on the west coast you're looking at about $1,500.

I was hoping I could try to get that out of it. I bought it for $600, its a little rough but it runs great, only problem is the radiator and dents in the pipe. But I don't know the last time its really all been gone through.

    Cool thread.
I am currently selling our YZ85 that my gf rides and we will be picking up a '17 YZ125 before spring. I'm excited because she will ride it but I'm throwing my numbers on it, so I can sometimes run it in a 2nd class, at the races :) I haven't had a 2stroke in a few years, so I'm looking forward to it. 125s are always fun in the open / vet classes. Plus something to break the norm from my 250F. Also, I am excited to see my gf step up to the full size bikes. She did great on her 85. I'm sure she will continue to progress on the bigger bike.

    Hey,
03 YZ250 here with mushy front brake.
Put a rebuild kit in it and fresh dot 4. Only thing I haven't tried is a new line. The existing line is missing some outer shielding but braided inner is undamaged. There are also no leaks.
Tried clamping lever overnight with no results.
    Frustrating,

Ya, you could try a steel-braided line. That should help, if you did everything else.

In general, up until the last year or 2, the YZs haven't had a great front brake. My last few, I installed an oversized front rotor on the bike as my first mod. I like the front brake to be really responsive and you just don't get that solid feel with the OEM equipment.

Im being advised that the master cylinder may be worn out, negating the rebuilt plunger kit I put in. The brakes can be locked up but the fact I can two finger the lever to the bar is unsettling.

Oh, ya something is up then. You for sure still don't have the correct power / pressure if your lever is easily going to the bar, still. I've never had something like that happen, so I am not sure. Maybe someone else has some experience with that. I thought you meant that you had good lever feel but just didn't feel like it had enough stopping power, after the rebuild kit.

No its the complete opposite, the brakes work well (they bite with light pressure).
