Here's my TRD OR SB loaded up and ready to moto. I added the 2nd gen front bed rail and JP metal fab corner brace/tie downs. I'm using the factory cleats as a wheel chok to keep the front wheel from moving side to side. I have a Ready Ramp bed extender, but it sat too far off of the tailgate for my liking. I've since purchased a moto-gate.

I agree Breck FJ. As someone that's been riding mountain bikes for a long time, I have to say the market is flooded with great options these days. The toughest thing about buying a new bike now is sorting through all the possibilities. BTW, I assume you live up in Breckenridge. I lived in Blue River for awhile. Such a great trail network in that area. I moved down to Sedalia to be closer to town. I love it there too though.

Yeah, it's tough if you just can't wait. LBs are so hard to find. The popularity of short beds prove they are a better option for most people though, and you're right about all the options that make the SB more useable/configurable. I was fortunate to be in a postion to be able to wait 6 weeks for my build to happen too. I had to have the long bed for practical considerations.

Gotta love the fall rides..colors should be real nice in a week or so.

I hope my new bike arrives soon to enjoy it this season. It's apparently rather difficult to get a Specialized Rockhopper in XL right now.

I have the Kuat NV 2.0 - Good, sturdy rack, but still sits up just barely too high to drop the tailgate. It'll hit on the plastic wheel holders. Been running that rack on other vehicles before getting the Taco, and no complaints (except the clearance with a dropped tailgate).

Need some help on ideas for attaching fork mounts to the top of a tonneau cover. Is this a bad idea? I would like to do this so I can still use the bed for storage on trips. I am afraid of committing to drilling into the tonneau cover. Also need to make sure it can still fold up with bikes off.

I have the factory cover, ftr, but would like to see any and all set ups.

Damn, well thanks for your responses everyone, sounds like the T2, Yakima, and Kuat all sit just high enough that they hit. Is there any sort of receiver dropper that anyone has tried? I don't like the idea of using one, but if it simply slid in and dropped the receiver just blow the existing receiver, it would do the trick - but I haven't been able to find one that doesn't move the rack farther back.

I love that Chromag! I can't quite tell what model that is though...

I'm in the market for a steel 650b+ hardtail, and Chromag is at the top of the list. How do you like it?

It is the Wideangle, 650b model. I absolutely love it and ride it more than all the others. Short chainstays and really snappy in corners and low maintenance... plus the bike will probably outlive me being steel!

Its a Thule Big mouth mounted on the Thule Tracker 2 system. Holds strong. I've driven my bike across the country with this setup with no issues.

Made about 15 trips up the hill today. Quick on and off with nothing but a tailgate pad.

Any issues with scuffing on the tailgate from the pad?
What about marking the bumper from the wheels? I'm looking into a pad as well, but I'd rather just use the hitch rack if there's a risk of scratching...
