Might as well use it if you've got it right?? The gas sucks but it's worth it IMHO....the SC is fun.

I dunno! Long term plans.....I'd like it all. Not much wheelin out here in Michigan though so first things first I'd like a cap and roof top tent for camping. If I make it back out to Utah I'd consider the armor.

On the road, you can't really tell. The King setup is a little bit on the stiff side. I haven't had a chance ro test it off road yet.

The stock TRD setup is very nice out of the box. I enjoyed it for over 2 years. I just needed more lift and beefier components for the types of offroading that I became more and more addicted to.

 

What does everyone think about the Raptor lights mod, specifically on the Pro grille, yay/nay?

I'm going this route, seen it on IG and messaged the owner on how he did his. I like it cause it's subtle and not to overkill on the bright side.

 

I think that's the first that I've seen it done on the Pro grille. Doesn't look too bad. Although it looks nice with the Raptor style grille, I feel like it's too much biting off the Raptor

I'm still gathering up parts. I'll be sure to post up pics and parts ones I complete it.

 

I had my exhaust cross-over relocated, went up a tire size to 265/75/16's, and had a Wheeler's 1.5" life add-a-leaf set installed today. I'll provide more details and pics later, but I'm having a problem with the springs and need some advice. The Wheeler set advertises a 1-1.5" increase in height. With the factory 1.75" lift in front and everything else stock the truck sat dead level. To get rid of rear end squat when carrying anything, I added these springs. This should have resulted in a rake that was very close to a factory OR truck, just about an inch-and-a-half higher all around. However, the rear is now 2.5 inches higher! Do these things settle, and is a 1 inch settling realistic? I'm worried about my rear brake lines and shocks - which can take an extra 1.5 inches, but not 2 or more. The rake is also pretty extreme and I have no idea how the thing is going to handle at speed now. Help!!!

 

Yes they will settle some. Did you leave the overload in or take it out? The overload adds an extra half inch or so. I have about 2" of extra lift in the back and my 5160s have been fine.

 

It's should settle a bit......you should be fine.

Edit....take the overload out, if it's in.

 

These springs are designed for the overload to be left in. Pulling it will reduce the maximum payload, just like progressive AAL's do. With progressives you get height, more flex, and a smoother ride, but they reduce payload and towing specs. This is what they are designed to do and there's nothing wrong with that approach. However, I'm trying to add strength to the crappy factory springs, so I went with the single leaf. Stiffer ride, no increase in flex, some lift, but a higher payload.

 

I added the icon progressive aal and it's great, I do not tow thouh.....I know a few others have added the same and do tow and have had no problems.....with no overload.

 

Just back from a week in Maui.....have yet to see a TRD Pro in California (though I have seen one in Vegas and a couple in Colorado)....in a single week I saw the Trifecta....Inferno, White, and Black! Lots of Tacos on Maui! Not sure why, but there seems to be a trend over there to run way wide rims with tires that stick miles outside the truck. Did see a lot of cool trucks while I was there.
