I have to agree. It would have been easy to make it one or two amps instead of 500mA. We have a great outlet in the bed of the truck but no power options in the cab without bringing our own device to put in the 12v adapter.

That's great... Still doesn't explain why it can't be for media AND usb charging. Just seems like something they cut a corner on. Even my wife's kia has a usb port that charges the phone.

isn't there one in the centre console?

I haven't gotten delivery of mine yet, but I know when I went for my test drive there was a second USB port which was for charging.
Unless its just for the Canadian models?

On my DCSB TRD OR there's a 12V outlet in the center consoler. Easily turns into a USB charger though. I also got the dual USB ports installed at the rear of the console for rear seat passengers to use.

I agree with the cut corner post, they could have powered that USB. Its really a let down with the entune system if it doesn't charge as well.

So looking at comments, looks like the iPhone generally charges (will depend on an Apple compliant cord - freakin' Apple) as my iPhone charges to 100% as well. Maybe they expect the non-Apple phones to use the Qi charger?

    Does seem kinda dumb.
