We figured our gas mileage yesterday and we only got around 7.3 mpg but those hills in VA were steep for 28 miles going up. I-81 has some steep inclines also. We have not made any alterations on the vehicle but are open to suggestions. Hope you enjoy your trip. Fall is my favorite season!! image.jpg

I really like the Rpods and the above trailer of rvallance but I have terrible claustrophobia and with two 45 lb dogs it was a no go. Would have been easier on the truck and gas mileage though. Ah well, my third Toyota truck and they have always served me well.

They may not be as tall as those out West, but the mountains here are steep as all get out and cangive your truck a real workout!

It might be ok but the trailer has too much tongue weight, you'd have to weight it to know.

We camp in that area frequently, usually stay at Bear-tree Campground or Grindstone and ride the Creeper Trail in Damascus. Highly recommend these 2 campgrounds and the trail for anyone that is interested. Sounds like you may have been in the same area, the journey up White Top Mountain is very steep, it is the most difficult pull I have encountered for my Tacoma.

Loaded up the trailer and delivered 2 cords of wood. Pulls really nice with the lift. Two trips obviously considering 1 cord and the trailer weigh in around 5700 poundsIMG_6653.jpg IMG_6656.jpg
