It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
anyone in here have steel bumpers and winches? ive got the 2.5 with rrs and 700lb springs on the way, but I'm worried I won't get much lift without preloading a lot.

What are the pros and cons of using a top spacer VS preloading the ICON coilovers?

Before lift (measured from center hub)
    Drivers front 20 2/3. Rear 21 1/2
    Passenger front 21. Rear 21 1/2

Post lift: 23 1/4 on all four corners.

Had to adjust the drivers side coilover to level out the bro lean.

I failed to mention that I removed the overload spring. Rides great...I have no regrets going with Icon.

    Cliff,
So what do you set the CDC's at for Off road and just driving on the streets? I read that setting 4 is normal setting.

Its all personal preference really. Set at 5 would be the same as a non CDC coilover, so you basically have 5 points softer and 5 firmer than a normal setting.

I prefer my truck a little stiffer on the street and run them at like 7 or 8 around town and like a 3 or 4 off road for just general trail running. Higher speed I'll make it stiffer to reduce body roll, more slow speed I'll soften it up.

I got a question for you guys. I have decided in Icon for the front coilovers. I will be using the Dakar pack for the rear. I am going to be honest and say I will be on the street 95% of the time. When I do off road it will be slow, no high speed anything for me. I already have a cbi T3 bumper in aluminum and it will be getting a winch. Mobtown sliders, a pelfrey high clearance rear, and full skids will round out the armor. Bed usually empty, occasionally haul camping gear.

So with that, what stage should I really be looking at. I used to run a 85 4Runner crawler. 4" lift 14" travel bilstein piggy back. It rode really well, I miss it but it wasn't practical for the family. This will be much more family oriented.

    Thanks

Pulled the trigger on Icon Stage 4 at a once in a lifetime deal! Honestly, the only way I could ever afford it.
Can't wait to get it installed!
I'm open to any advice on setup you have to offer.
Mainly my daily with twice a month trips off road.

Thanks man. It's a whole new world for me. I have a lot to learn. I've always wanted a true truck that can go (almost) anywhere I wanted.
I'm looking forward to spending more time out with tw peeps!

I need some help deciding which stage kit to get. Initially I was just going to get the rear bump stop kit, but it's ballooned to a full kit. I currently have an OME kit, no control arms, rear Dakars. I'm looking for some some additional front travel as well.

So here is where I am. When camping I have a fully loaded bed, a steel rack, and a RTT. Last trip I was hitting the bumpstops here and there which is why the Icon bumps came into the picture. I wasn't super happy with the front end either. I don't really do high speed stuff, although the last trip had 50+ miles on not so smooth dirt roads. At first I thought I had broken a sway bar link or something, but the shocks were just really hot.

I'm between a stage 4 and stage 5 with or without the bumps. I think if I do the stage 4 I'll add bumps, stage five I won't....or I might. Will the extra cost for the 2.5 rear shocks that come on the stage 5 be worth it? I know they have an internal bumpstop which would be nice, but I'm not sure how effective it would be since you need to reach the end of the shock travel to really activate it. Where the bump is meant to slow down at the end of actual wheel travel.

I'm tryng to keep the cost down a little, otherwise I'd just do stage 5 and the bumps. What do you think?

Got my shocks installed, no leafs yet so I have about 1" bro rake. Or bro lean whichever you guys call it. otherwise it rides great. Going to let the shocks settle for 500 miles then align and look for tires and leafs next.

You cant go wrong with any of icons kits.

I'm running their stage 7 with their bump stops and love it. Better to be over equipped and not need the extra equipment. My rig is pretty much just an overland vehicle with the occasional rock crawling.

Alright i need some help. i am getting a squeaking noise from my driver side of my truck after installing my ICON Stage 4 tubular UCAs. I packed the UCA Bushings full of grease. and hit them up again with the zerk fittings.. its mainly when i turn the wheel like the vehicle is shifting its weight. i get a quieter noise when i just shake the truck. I got the alignment done already as well
