??? You listed it as blank, suggesting he's not charging it. Now I'm concerned I've completely misunderstood the deal you're presenting. Probably be best if you reformat things to make it clearer what YOU are expecting to pay, including everything except what the state mandates (taxes/title)

    My bad, let me explain.

He sent me a sheet. In it there are two coloumns. Dealer Price/Retail Price. He is offering the Dealer Price side. He claims Dealer Price IS invoice.

If you look at my post, the side on the left is the Dealer Price. The one on the right is the Retail Price.

TDA falls under the Dealer column. But it is blank under the Retail side.

Hope this clarifies. If not, not a big deal.

Ah, I see you've clarified the columns. Still a pretty decent deal even with the TDA included. Some have done better, but you may well have squeezed most of the juice from the orange on this one. Unless you forsee getting much more out of the bargain I'd say it's fine to go forward with. Depending on how you phrased your email you may not want to push further and seem to be going against your word. The only thing I'd do if you can is take that offer to whatever dealer you'll most likely use for service and see if they'll beat it. I've sometimes found in the past that I've seemed to get a bit more latitude on stuff from service departments where I'd bought the vehicle. Just anecdotal evidence and I'm sure many won't have seen that.

Give it time, TW will beat the love out of you.

j/k -- but have a thick skin, there sometimes seems to be a pretty wide variance on what's considered polite conversation.

I bought mine from Torrington Toyota even though I live in Plainville and Stephens is closer. Dave K was awesome to work with.

Help... I am looking for a 2017 Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed Automatic with a V6 in the SR5 trim. Am I interpreting this correctly? Is the price the dealer pays $27969? Where can I back this information up when negotiating with my dealer?

Yes and no. Does the dealer pay that? Maybe. Is that their actual cost? No.

Anyway who cares about proving anything to the dealer. DON'T negotiate on invoice price. They'll fuck you over on fees. (okay not all do this, but you're bending over with a come hither look when you do that...)

Always negotiate on Out-the-door / drive-out pricing. That way there are no surprises. It is dead simple to see if the bottom line total isn't what you agreed to.

Negotiate that drive out price before you get a value on your trade. Before you show up know what Carmax will give you for your trade, keep that in your back pocket.

Also be sure to know your financing options before you walk in the door. If the dealer can beat it, great. Otherwise you have what you can go get. Credit unions are great for this. Sometimes a dealer actually can write a credit union loan, one stop shopping. (mine could, with the CU I've been using for years, got same rate I'd have gotten from the credit union).

Ok so the best price I have so far is $28,500 (plus tax tags and their processing ($300))... Thoughts?

Is that for the 7146? You said short bed before but quoted the long bed price (LB) which is the bottom of your screen shot and number 7170.

If it's the 7146 then $27,504 is the invoice so $28,500 is +$1,000 but invoice does not include any extras (nerf bars, floor mats, appearance package, etc.). Does your offer include any of the add ons?

I would negotiate their processing fees as those are BS most places. I did this by starting with a lower offer than I thought they would accept but including the fees in that so that the negotiations now include the fees. So like $26,000 + $300 = $26,300 and that's the offer. They will probably still include it in their offers by figuring it into their counter offer but it helps keep things straight and you can negotiate to where you feel comfortable. Good luck!

I'm trying to do everything online. I already put a down payment for received a build order for 11/11/16. I didn't ask for an out the door price. Should this be discussed immediately or should I wait until discussing the financing?

If you're saying you put down a deposit without negotiating price then yes I would absolutely discuss pricing now. Otherwise what if it comes in and you can't agree to a price. You would have just wasted time and energy. I would also get a soft quote on financing so you can decide if you want to use your bank or credit union. Sometimes having that helps get them to adjust their pricing to be competitive.

holy shit. Here's how it will go

the dealership receives the truck. Truck rolls into PDI and salesman calls you. He says the truck is here. Come on down and pick it up.

When you get there, the salesman won't talk money, he will take you to the truck to go look at all the pretty features and ogle at the beautiful new truck. Oh, there is a MSRP in the window,,, XX,xxx. "let's go inside"

He will hand you paperwork that shows an addendum of 5000 dollar making the new base price XX,xxx+5000. "But your truck is right out there, ready to drive away!"

GO AGREE TO A PRICE IN WRITING NOW

edit, I originally thought you were getting a PRO. It won't be so bad if you aren't getting a PRO, but they could still charge you more

I had contacted a local dealership about 2 months ago and I was looking for a QS tan 2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 shortbed with the premium/tech package... They had one allocated for me and It finally came in yesterday. I paid $37.3k they gave me the extended warranty and got rid of that stupid $950 delivery fee that CA has.

    Hi,

So I just spoke to the dealer again. My on the road price is $30,692... Invoice they say is 29,267 minus $1000 military discount plus taxes and tags.

This is for a 2017 Tacoma SR5 Rear Wheel Drive Shortbed Double Cab V6 Auto with no add ons.

    Thoughts?
