I'm looking to secure this glass breaker/seatblet cutter under the center console lid:

Question is how would you secure it? Short sheetmetal screws into the ABS shell?

I think they are 3/4"or1/2",just by a small pack of each, they just need to stick out past the mount by a 1/4"

I'm planning on securing mine to the front of the console itself.

Be sure you can reach it easily when you may need it.
Have one on each side of the front seats.

Placement of mine won't require opening the console and should be within reach in case of a turn over.

For those of you who find themselves in the very unfortunate situation where you need to use this, strike the window in one of the lower corners. A strike in the center will result in the hammer bouncing right off the window without breaking it.

I would look into one that is more like a punch instead of a hammer. Hammer is great from the outside but from inside it is much easier to swing the back side of a closed fist into the window than the hammer motion. Especially if you are right handed.
