2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 6 Spd Manual

Greetings from NC! I have owned several flavors/variations of Tacos throughout the years, but I must say I love my new one the most! I thought I'd NEVER own a manual trans vehicle again. After long conversations with a friend of mine (happens to be my salesman ) he talked me into getting a 2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 with a 6 Spd manual trans. Holy cow is thing FUN to drive, not to mention to have control over the power! I thought I was too old to enjoy something like this...apparently not

 

If I had to do it over again this is the config I'd buy. Congrats OP.

I just bought a 2016 in the same configuration, I love it! Congrats on the truck

 

I am not sure I would still drive a Taco if it wasn't for the manual trans, it a freaking blast to drive

 

Well, believe it or not one reason was for resale value. Not sure if it is specific to my location, and the fact they are a little difficult to find kind of push me over the edge....then I drove it. It was a done deal after that

 

i'm waiting on mine, 2 months in to the wait already. i chose the Taco for the 6MT option, so it's good to hear your feedback OP!

 

I also read that based on lease residuals, etc, the 7545 had the highest anticipated resale value of all Tacomas. Neat.

Congrats OP! I'm 4 weeks into my wait on mine in your exact configuration except in MGM. If you don't mind me asking, what is the break in period like for the M/T? How is the highway noise with the stock tires?

 

I've heard this from numerous sources...is there hard proof evidence of this?

This is the 2nd time I've heard this and the first was from a thread dedicated, asking best residual value for 3rd gens and it was the TRD OR DCSB 6MT 4X4 and the TRD OR DCSB 4x2 Auto.

I like hard evidence, not here say on the internet.

 

Amongst enthusiasts maybe higher value. In the big picture I doubt it, most of the general population will want a slush box automatic as that's all they can drive or so wife, kids, etc. can drive it too. I wouldn't hold much weight into a manual carrying higher resale than an auto in same config but it is cooler.

I see your logic, but this again isn't hard evidence, mealy speculation. Obviously someone knows more about this, waiting to hear...
