And for the audiophiles in here.

I used to be a home theater engineer and my step dad still owns a theater company if you need gear. Imagine audio video. After there I went to work at Victoria's Secret in NYC doing live work and film editing. We did all the concept work for commercials and inspiration videos and shit.

I took my AKG studio headphones apart and installed them inside my motorcycle helmet so I could blast quality tunes at 160 mph through the mountains and canyons.

And I'll have nitro beers on tap in the truck once I'm done installing the onboard water system. It's gonna be pressurized with nitrogen so I can pour a pint in the trail.

Marantz is what I loved for a long time due to their amps in the 80s were just beastly and powerfull.

I went with Onkyo and HK for awhile in the 90s cause i had an insane discount with them.

These days, i dint know whats good anymore and I use just a shit set of free Bose speakers on my home TV. So basically, i has no entertainment center.


My headset gets me by for gaming. That way its just me hearing the game and no one else.

 

I have a marantz receiver now for my home theater. It is super nice.

 

My buddy just got one a few months ago, it is super nice. I cant go and do a big setup like that cause my lady wont know how to work it.
Only way it could work is one of those programmable logitec remotes with macros. But even then i still bet it gets hosed up.

 

Harmony remote is the only way my wife can work the entertainment system too. Push one button to watch TV, one button to watch a movie.

 

That's what I had to do. Harmony one. Works for everything including KODI. She's happy. I'm plotting the next phase of the build. I'm thinking a new sub.

The automation aspect of home entertainment was actually my favorite part. It's basically how I got my foot into IT. Writing code for AMX systems back when it was all object oriented language.

 

Ive got 20' between houses. I dont watch that many movies though. Im more of a music lover than theater nut

 

Yeah, the Wilson stuff is almost strictly music. I don't actually recommend it much for theater - there's better stuff for that.

 

My entire military career we've been lucky enough to move into homes with all the home appliances in place. I guess Hawaii doesn't offer homes with washer dryers.....there goes another $2k out the window.
